Workshop on

Academic Ethics and Integrity 04 August, 2017

As per the directives received from H. E. the Chancellor of the State

Universities and Governor, Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner is organizing a Workshop on the theme “Academic Integrity and Ethics”. Besides the representatives of all the Hon’ble Vice Chancellors of the Universities located in Rajasthan, the Principals of the all the affiliated Colleges including both the government and the Private Colleges shall participate. The major areas to be covered in the Workshop are as follows:

1. Academic Ethics and Integrity (including the Curriculum) : An Overview 2. Preventive Measures to control Plagiarism 3. Emerging Cyber Threat and Academic Honesty 4. Intellectual Property Rights & Copyright Laws

No registration fee shall be charged. The participants attending the workshop may claim TA/DA from their parent institution.

I have the honour to bring to your kind notice that the OSC (Officer on Special Duty) Higher Education, Raj Bhawan vide his above referred letter has conveyed the desire of H.E. the Governor and Chancellor, Universities of Rajasthan to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner to hold a workshop on the issue of Academic Ethics and Integrity on similar lines as was done by University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in which other related issues such as Copyright Laws, Intellectual Property Rights, Cheating, Plagiarism besides Curricular Integrity, etc. may be discussed leading towards developing a policy on Academic Ethics related to the State universities of Rajasthan. A copy of Raj Bhawan’s letter is enclosed for your perusal. Further Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Maharaja Ganga Singh University has also ordered the undersigned to act as convener. Thus in compliance of the letter of Raj Bhawan, a workshop (one day) is scheduled to be held on 4 August, at 10:30 AM in which the participation of your University/Department is essential. For this purpose, a suitable representative may be nominated from your University/Department at your end so that meaningful deliberations may be ensured. The participants attending the workshop may claim TA/DA from their parent institution. In view of the above, you are requested to take necessary action.
