6. Describe advantages and disadvantages of web-based applications. (at least 6)

Advantages: Web-based software is safer. When you use our web-based

software, your data is stored on secure, always-updated, backed-up daily enterprise-class servers in a state-of-the-art, highly-secure data center.

Everything together in one place. A key advantage to web-based software is that all your data is centralized and accessible over the web from any computer at any time. You can’t leave something on the wrong computer since everything is stored in one place on the web.

Web-Based Software Reduces Costs. Web-based software requires no initial capital investment to buy software for a number of individual desktops. There is no software to download or install on site

Disadvantages: It has the inclination to run slower than software that is stored on

an actual local hard drive and if the Web-based software server goes down it will prevent all its users from accessing the application.

A user would not be able to access the Web-based software without Internet access. One way to avoid not being able to access the software without Internet is to install Web-based software with offline capabilities.

The cost, initially it is low in cost. Eventually the monthly fees adds up to an overall higher cost.
