Documentation is Everything!

Never, ever, ever, go to work on a project without
proper documentation and details. Ever!

The most essential elements I include in my proposals, retainers, and
contracts.
• Payment terms and fee structure
• My NO REFUND policy
• What the project includes (and what it doesn’t)
• Timelines and milestones
• How long the proposal or contract is valid for
• Rights to design comps and final artwork
• Rights to showcasing my work
• Professional recommendation of services, products, advice, etc.
• And everything that is critical that will keep me from getting in trouble!

Cover all the details that you can and then some!

Streamline Your Process for Efficiency

Use templates, apps, and cut and paste as much as
you can. There is no shame in speed. (unless you screw up the details)

Currently I use my standard templates that I created in Pages because it saves
me money and I don’t do the Dog and Pony show anymore. Really.

There are plenty of resources available these days.
Find them. Copy them. Use them. Don’t reinvent the wheel but DO make sure whatever you use works for you and is legal
according to your state and or country.
