WHAT WE DID AND WHAT WE DO NOW
• Public Relations students formally completed three work term reports – First and second reports were similar to a SWOT
analysis – Third report was a reflective paper
• Now:1. Written report on a problem/project or an examination
of a communication theory in practice2. Portfolio3. Reflective seminar
WHY THE CHANGE?• Students don’t enjoy writing reports /boredom • Last minute efforts• Challenges in finding topics• Continuously trying to improve practice and be
creative• Industry trends• Student initiative• Mentoring for new co-op students• Increase opportunity for reflection
