SITE STRATEGY:The Ithaca site has an apparant level change between west and east side. The program (housing/building density) dynamic between the two sides are also no-ticeable.To enhance our concept strategy, the site itself is also viewed as a “poche space within space.”

Site: Morningside Park, NY

The Morningside Park is chosen to be the urban landscape for a diverse recreational space/campus facility for the Harlem neighborhood and the Columbia campus. The programs mimic the ones at Columbia University including specific sizes for each classroom. The project connects the park to the Harlem neighborhood and the Co-lumbia campus, and it functions as a shared space for education, enter-tainment, and public transporting system.

The tube structure is created in Rhino using grasshopper. The form acts as the circulation flow and the structure itself. Due to the large program scale, the cross wire structure performs as a lighter ele-ment which also weaves in between the tree-line.

The general museum functionality in Taiwan has become an issue due to its lack of permanent collection and limitation on avail-able space. Even with the effort of exhibiting worldwide famous art works, the museum performance often falls short because of overly dense population where general public cannot appreciate any art work at a reasonable distance.Several issues concerning general museum character in Taiwan:-The museum space is often kept very formal and ordinary to allow conventional work of art to fully express itself. However, as the discipline of art continues to change, it is evident that the traditionally defined exhibition space has become inadequate for the more interactive contemporary art.-Art education in museums involving practice and experimentation is viewed as separated from exhibition experience. Over time, educational programs become desolate and are often misused. The museum’s failure to provide a fun and learning space leads people to overlook the potential for an interactive learning environment.

Site: Southern tip of Yingge district in New Taipei City, on a reclama-tion area on the west side of the Dahan River. The site is near the Yingge Railway Station and the Yingge Ceramics Museum.
