Investigate work holding devices used when carrying out a milling task
Today’s objectives
Milling Machines
Milling is the term given to the removal of material using a milling machine.
The material is able to move in the X and Y axis. The tool moves in the Z axis.
The material is fixed i.e. doesn’t rotate. The tool rotates and cuts the work piece.
MIlling
Head – This contains the motorGear box – Used to select different speeds
Spindle – This rotates and holds the Cutter
Table – This is where the work is held
X and Y traverse wheels
