Head to WordPress.com, and follow these steps.
Enter a name for your site (netIDbch4503) and click Select next to the free option.

Click Settings, scroll down to Privacy, and select Private.
Scroll to Personalize > Themes. Search for the Suits theme > Activate.

Click Colors & Backgrounds. Select the middle palette. From the screen that appears, select Color. Click the Background and select pick your own color. Enter #660000 for maroon. Click Done (on the color at top) when finished.
Click Site Title and enter “Principles of Scientific Communication” as the site title and “by Your Name (netID)” as the tagline.
Widgets
Click Widgets under the Appearance settings. Add the following widgets: Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Categories, Tag Cloud, and Links.
To add a widget, click on a widget in the list of available widgets, choose Main Sidebar, and click Add Widget.
Once the widgets are added, you have the ability to adjust and save the settings. Click Save when

Click Posts > Categories and create the following categories: Article Reviews, Assignments, Journaling, and Reports.
Adding a New Post
Click Add New from the Posts section. Insert a title, a post, and select the “Uncategorized” category. Also, add “welcome” to the tag section. Click Publish.

Click Links > All Links. WordPress automatically populates the blogroll with links. These can be deleted by clicking the checkbox next to name, selecting Bulk Actions > Delete, and clicking Apply.
Adding New Links
Click Add New and fill in the following information:

Ask-a-Librarian / MSU Libraries
Address
http://library.msstate.edu/askalibrarian
Select _blank in the Target section (leave everything else blank/unchecked), and click the blue Add Link button at the top r ight.
Repeat these steps to add the following links:

Pages are different from posts in that they are static and are added to your menu bar and not the blog feed. To see a list of your pages, click Pages on the dashboard. Select All Pages.
When you mouse over a page’s title, you see options for Edit, Quick Edit, Trash, and View. Click Edit under the About page.
Edit your page and click Update.
