There is evidence that the bench grinder wheel has been used to grind non-ferrous metal. (build up of this material can cause imbalance and possible disintegration. The tool rest is not installed and/or adjusted to within 1/8" of the grinding or wire wheel. Transparent, non-shatter eye shields are not mounted over the wheels of the bench grinder.
