Join local artist Kate Brookes to make a very specialmonstrous dragon for the new gallery space in the oldLibrary. According to local legend a dragon terrorisedhomes and villages, but made best friends with a littlegirl called Maud, until slain by a nobleman (or so wethink.....!). Come along and help with the challenge ofrecreating this gigantic beast (and a pocket sized Dragonto take home). Stay for the day and enjoy a relaxed lunchin the Little Ginger Pig Cafe.

This gigantic dragon will remain in this space throughoutthe summer, families can drop in and make a pocket sizeMaud or contribute to our Book of Legends – aallll FFRREEEE

Dragon Day!Saturday 21st July

On Summer Saturdays, starting 30th June, learn how to cut thesilhouette of a legendry character (drop in between 10.30am – 12.30pm)and dig up treasures and artefacts from a make believe castle!

A clay workshop with Jon 'the potter' Williams. Make andshape castles with battlements, towers and turrets andfantastical creatures, take your creations home to dry and paint!

A Little Book of Mythical Creatures

10.30am – 12.30pm for 7 – 12 yearsCost: £4.50 per child – booking essential

Join children's illustrator Sarah Millin to create your veryown special book of mythical creatures, including dragons,mermaids and unicorns. Using recycled collage materials youcan develop your story into words and pictures.

Wonderland in Miniature

Come along and create a miniature wonderland for thecharacters and creatures of your favourite legends andstories, working with a variety of materials.

Wednesday 22nd August

A Fairytale Banquet

10.30am – 1.30pm for 5 – 12 yearsCost: £4.50 per child – booking essential

The challenge is to create a 3D collage banquet to delight our visitors. Comealong to make blackbird pies, jelly castles and much more. Bring along yourideas and a picnic lunch and dine in style.

Live story performances and puppet making with AgentGreen, the world’s only surviving Dragon Whisperer!Family Day – perfect for accompanied children 6 – 12years and dragon fans of any age.(Note morning session not suitable for toddlers)

Morning shows:Dragon Tales 11.00am – 11.45amFrom Wales to the wilds of Transylvania, from sheep thieves to enchantedprincesses, these legends and wonder tales sizzle with dragons: dangerous,delightful and downright daft. Agent Green, world expert on dragons, passeson the amazing stories she learns from her dragon companion as they flyaround the world together. (Note not suitable for toddlers)

A Child’s World of Story 12.00pm – 12.45pmAgent Green’s dragon knows more than just dragon tales. Sparkling withmagical creatures, these are the folktales, legends and fairytales told to AgentGreen on long winter nights in the cave. (Note not suitable for toddlers)

Afternoon Session:Stories to Start Art 2.00pm – 4.00pmCost for this session £1 towards materialsTake a dragon home with you! Agent Green tells another spellbinding dragonlegend (or two). Then children take charge of adults to create your very owncolourful dragon stick puppet.

Legend

Come along and explore this fun family exhibition oflegends, tales, brave knights and valiant damsels! Therewill be an opportunity to try on some wonderful costume– fit for a princess and a dashing knight. You can designand make dreamy head-dress from a selection ofcollage materials, build a castle from bricks, andillustrate your favourite legend or heraldic shield todisplay in the gallery – aallll FFRREEEE..
