Michael Lang: The Amazing Concert-Promoting, Hippie-Boy Wonder
•Lang had existing experience as a producer from his work with the 1968 Miami Pop Festival, which at the time was the largest music festival to date.
It’s attendance drew over 100,000 people in only two days.
He was 24 years old then, and only 25 when he took on his role as the promoter of Woodstock.
John Roberts and Joel RosenmanThe Boys with the Dough
Roberts was the heir to the fortune of The Block Drug Company. He and his friend, Joel Rosenman were looking for something lucrative to invest the money into.
Together they placed an ad in the New York Times stating:“Young Men with Unlimited Capital Looking for Interesting, Legitimate Investment Opportunities and Business Propositions.”
They met Lang shortly thereafter, and began discussing some ideas.

TO THE RESCUE!
When word got around that the Wallkill locals were against the idea of holding the festval there, Kornfield met with Yagsur, who agreed to lease out the use of his 600-acre dairy farm in Bethel, New York as the new home to the festival grounds.
