of the staff, students and community I wish Naomi and her family all the best as they await the arrival of their newest family member.

Mrs Simpson’s leave means that there will be some changes to how library operates in Term 3. Library days will move from Monday to Tuesday, and from Thursday to Wednesday. Mrs Mander and Mrs Duncan will continue to share the teaching duties of class 1-2D, whilst also sharing in the management and operation of the school library also.

Merit AssemblyThis coming Friday afternoon will be the date of our Term 2 Merit Assembly, commencing at 2:15pm. Parents and community members are welcome to join us for this end of term recognition assembly.

Semester 1 ReportsReports will be issued to students this week outlining progress that has been evidenced throughout the first half of this year. Parents will be given the opportunity to meet with teachers early next term to discuss these reports and look at future directions for student development.

Student reports are one means of sharing information with parents, and are best backed up through a conversation between parents and teachers. Please keep an eye out for parent-teacher meetings early next term.

P&C Golf DayCongratulations to the members of the P&C Fundraising Committee and all who assisted them in holding a very successful golf day last Sunday. These people put a lot of time and energy into activities that ultimately support our school and our students. Congratulations and many thanks to all involved!

Headlice Can all families please make an effort to check their child/ren’s hair for lice through the holidays, and treat if necessary. It would

be great if we could start the term “lice free”!

Until next week….

Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition

Last Monday, 16 June, Samuel Ticknor, Damien Rojcevic, Kyla Smith and Jack Ramirez-Sheen, represented out school in the local final for this competition at Alstonville.

The standard of speeches was very high and we can all be very proud of the way our students performed, particularly in the impromptu speech section.

Congratulations should also go out to every student who put up their hand to try out for this event and improved their public speaking skills as a result.
