About SACC New York The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is a private membership organization, founded in 1906. As the first and leading Swedish-American Chamber, SACC New York provides a vast array of services, aimed at promoting and advancing business relations between the U.S. and Sweden. Joanna Heimbold is the founder of Third EyeDesign, a Greenwich, CT, -based firm providinginterior and product design services, as well ascreative content for the performing arts and child-hood education. Third Eye Design provides designservices for homes and offices. Most recently, shecollaborated on the fall line for Travers, a leadingfabric house.

In the children's sector, Ms. Heimbold hasdesigned children’s products manufactured inFinland, China, Sweden and England for the high-end designer David Netto. Ms. Heimbold was theinterior stylist for the children's book “Baby's

Room,” published by Chronicle Books. In addition, Ms. Heimbold is creatinga multifaceted program called "Stand Tall,” which teaches children tospeak easily and naturally in front of audiences.

Ms. Heimbold is best-known for her acting and creative role with thedance/theater group Instant Girl, which won high acclaim. In her televisionand motion picture roles, she has appeared on “The Jon Stewart Show,”MTV, PBS’s “City Arts” and “The Tracey Ullman Show.” She will soon be seenwith Scarlett Johansson in “The Nanny Diaries,” a Miramax film due forrelease in 2007.

Ms. Heimbold received her master’s degree in early childhood educationfrom Sarah Lawrence College. She lives in Connecticut with her two sons.

Betsy L. Anderson is Managing Director ofOverseas Citizens Service at the U.S. Departmentof State. Her team of 100 caseworkers, attorneysand children’s issues specialists is responsible formanaging crises involving U.S. citizens abroad:providing safety and security information, manag-ing inter-country adoptions involving U.S. citizens,preventing international parental child abduction,delivering assistance to U.S. victims of crime andterrorism overseas, and dealing with a host ofother emergency and routine matters involvingU.S. citizens who travel and reside abroad. Herteam’s most recent achievement was the assisted

departure of 15,000 U.S. citizens from Lebanon.

A U.S. Foreign Service Officer since 1976, Ms. Anderson has served in a num-ber of posts including Stockholm as Deputy Chief of Mission; Athens asConsul General; Geneva, Switzerland; Dakar, Senegal; Quebec, Canada;and Perth, Australia.

Ms. Anderson was educated at the American University in Washington,D.C., where she received a bachelor of arts in international studies in 1975.She graduated from a year-long program in strategic studies at the ArmyWar College in 1994. She is a member of the House of Sweden inWashington, D.C., and the Association of Diplomatic and Consular OfficersRetired. She speaks English, French, Swedish, Greek and Spanish.

Patricia Bivins is an attorney, political consultant,community activist, and most importantly, a moth-er. A lifelong Texan, Patricia was an attorney withthe law firm of Fulbright and Jaworski, was then alobbyist for a global energy company, and now is afield director and political consultant for theLieutenant Governor of Texas. Patricia served as thewife of the U.S. Ambassador to Sweden and lived inStockholm from June 2004 until December 2005.Her time in Sweden was a true honor and highlightin her life.

Now that they have moved back to Texas, sheprefers to devote most of her time and energy to

raising her three year old daughter, enjoying family, friends, and Texas politics.

Jewelle Bickford is a Rothschild Group InvestmentBanking Partner — one of 60 worldwide. She isresponsible for new business origination in NorthAmerica and the United Kingdom. Prior to 2003, Mrs.Bickford was Senior Managing Director and Head ofDebt Capital Markets for Rothschild Inc., the brokerdealer of Rothschild North America. She was also amember of NM Rothschild’s Global Banking andTreasury Committee. During Mrs. Bickford’s nineyears as head of the Debt Capital Markets Group,her team securitized and privately placed 95 trans-actions, allowing Rothschild to be consistentlyranked among the top 10 investments banks for pri-vately placed asset-backed securities.

Mrs. Bickford attended Randolph Macon Women’s College and received herB.A. from Sarah Lawrence College in 1977. She presently serves on theBusiness Committee of the Metropolitan Museum, the Board of Directors ofTorrey Funds and the Board of Trustees of Fountain House. She is President ofthe Trisha Brown Dance Company and serves on the board of the RandolphMacon Women’s College. She is a member of the Council on ForeignRelations and the Advisory Council of Afghan Women Leaders CONNECT, aspecial program of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.

Professor Harriet Wallberg-Henriksson has beenPresident of Karolinska Institutet since 2004. She isa member of Karolinska Institutet Nobel Assembly,which awards the winner of the Nobel Prize inPhysiology or Medicine.

Professor Wallberg-Henriksson began her medicalcareer in the 1970s, earning an M.D. and a Ph.D.Since 1998 she has been a professor of physiolo-gy. She has also been the Dean of Research atKarolinska Institutet. Between 2001 and 2003 sheheld the position of Secretary General of theSwedish Research Council for Medicine, whereshe played a major role in creating ethical guide-lines for stem cell research. Since 2004, she has

been a member of the International Science and Technology Forum (STS),Tokyo, and a member of the International Scientific Advisory Council to theGovernment, Singapore.

Professor Wallberg-Henriksson has been appointed by the Government tolead Swedish delegations to the United Nations, and to represent Swedenon the boards of numerous bodies, including the European ScienceFoundation, the WHO´s Agency for Cancer Research and the Heads ofInternational Research Organizations (HIROs), an international group ofmajor research financiers. She has written or co-written more than 130 sci-entific articles in the field of diabetes and clinical physiology. She was alsoVice-President of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes(EASD) from 2002 to 2005.

Yvonne Thunell is co-founder and partner atThunell, Odhnoff Sundstrom & Partners (www.din-mentor.se), a mentoring firm specializing in profes-sional and personal development. In addition toher role as a professional mentor and coach toexecutives, Ms. Thunell consults with corporationsto develop mentoring programs. She also designscourses and seminars on modern mentoring tech-niques.

Ms. Thunell also supports the development of stan-dards for ethics and quality in the mentoring field,working as committee chairman of the EuropeanMentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC,www.emccouncil.org), a pan-European organiza-

tion. Ms. Thunell co-founded EMCC Sweden as well as the Association forCertified Mentors (DMF, www.dmfmentorer.se).

Prior to her work as a professional mentor, Ms. Thunell worked in the IT indus-try in the United States and Sweden during the 1970s and 1980s. She co-founded Ericsson Programmatic, a U.S. consulting company specializing indata and telecommunications that later became part of the EricssonGroup. Ms. Thunell was also CEO at the AXXA Corporation in WoodlandHills, Calif. Upon returning to Sweden, she founded Career Coach, ahuman resources consulting firm.

Beatrice Engström-Bondy is a Senior Adviser to theChairman of the Board of Investor AB, a positionshe has held since 2005. Prior to her work atInvestor AB, Ms. Engström-Bondy was a ManagingPartner at Kreab London, where she worked from2000 to 2005. From 1995 to 2000, she was Head ofInformation of Enskilda and Adviser to theChairman of the Board at SEB in Stockholm.

Ms. Engström-Bondy started her career in the 1980sworking for UBS in Zurich as an economist. She alsoworked for the company in London as head ofInternational Media Relations. She is now a mem-ber of the Board of the Swedish Chamber ofCommerce for the United Kingdom and a member

of the Board of the British-Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Stockholm. Shewrote a book on Swiss banking in 1991 and was Chairman of theInternational School of Stockholm in 1994-95.

Ms. Engström-Bondy was educated in Paris, Zurich, London and Cologne.She received a Ph.D. from the University of Cologne, Germany; one M.S.from the London School of Economics in political science and a secondfrom the University of Zurich, in economics. Born in 1954, Ms. Engström-Bondyhas two daughters. She is fluent in five languages.

Born in Rome, Anna Maria Corazza Bildt made aninternational – diplomatic carrier, with the ItalianForeign Ministry, United Nations and EuropeanUnion with responsibilities ranging from develop-ment cooperation to humanitarian aid anddemocracy building. In particular, she has beenthe longest serving civilian in the Peace missions inCroatia and Bosnia Herzegovina, from 1992 to1998, working with the UN and the EU, notably inSarajevo.

Ms. Corazza Bildt now run Italiantradition.comsince 6 years, a family based Internet boutiquebringing Italian high quality food via the Net and

in selected shops. I newly opened a Hotel de Charme, Relais TabianoCastello in my family estate near Parma, in Northern Italy.

Her aim has been to share the best of her Italian food culture from Parma,where her family has been dedicated to produce Parmesan for 100 yearsto her new homeland, Sweden, leader in the new economy. She publishedwith Magdalena Ribbing “Kärleksfullt från Parma, Människorna, Maten,Traditionerna”

She is a proud member of the Swedish Red Cross Board and the ModerateParty Board for Stockholm. She is a committed European trying to bridgeher humanitarian, entrepreneurial and political lives and enjoying bothNorth and Southern Europe.

Elisabeth Tarras-Wahlberg was appointed Marshalof the Court and head of the office of CrownPrincess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and PrincessMadeleine in October 2004. During almost thirtyyears at the Royal Court, she has served in theRoyal Family's press staff. She has been awardedH.M. the King's medal of the 12th size for her servic-es to the court, and has received a number of for-eign decorations.

Ms. Tarras-Wahlberg's close relationship with theRoyal Family has made her a mentor to the CrownPrincess Victoria. She is also H M the King's speech-writer.

After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Mount Holyoke College in 1971, Ms.Tarras-Wahlberg studied at the University of Stockholm. Thereafter, shebegan her career at the Swedish Institute, where she worked as a StudyVisit Organizer and then later as Information and Press Secretary.

Ms. Tarras-Wahlberg is also successful author. Her books "Victoria, Victoria"and "Carl XVI Gustaf a Portrait with the Times" are the latest of six booksabout the Swedish Royal Family.

Ms. Tarras-Wahlberg has two daughters, Filippa 22, and Louisa 18. Theyreside in Lidingö, close to the center of Stockholm.

Monice Svenner is President of the Swedish recy-cling company, Stena Gotthard, which has morethan 700 employees at 70 sites. Previously, Ms.Svenner spent 13 years at Mölnlycke Health Care,working with technical, organizational, quality andfactory management. Previously, she worked withproduct and process development in the flooringand vehicle businesses at Volvo Cars.

Ms. Svenner has a Masters degree in ChemicalEngineering as well as a Teachers Diploma inMath, Chemistry and Physics. She grew up in SaoPaulo, Brazil where she was a track star in school.Now, married with two kids, Monica enjoys sailing

and golf near her home in Gothenburg.

Dagmar O’Connor, Ph.D., is a well-known Swedish-born sex therapist who caused a sensation at theWorld Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, thisyear by teaching world leaders about relation-ships. She will undoubtedly return to the WorldEconomic Forum in 2007.

Dr. O’Connor was the first female sex therapist tobe trained by Masters and Johnson in New YorkCity more than three decades ago. She is the for-mer Director of the Sex Therapy Clinic in theDepartment of Psychiatry at St. Luke’s RooseveltHospital Center, also in New York. In addition, Dr.O’Connor is a lecturer in psychiatry at ColumbiaPresbyterian Medical Center New York.

In 1985, Dr. O’Connor’s book, “How To Make Love to the Same Person forthe Rest of Your Life and Still Love It,” became an instant best seller andwas translated into 15 languages. Recently republished by Virgin Books, it isnow in its second printing. Publisher’s Weekly said the following: “This bookdeserves to be on every bedside table!”

Dr. O’Connor teaches many sought-after workshops, including “SexTherapy Vacation for Couples,” held in the Caribbean, and “Sexual Self-Esteem.” She has also designed videos for home use about her workshops.

Elizabeth J. Heider is Vice-President ofPreconstruction for Skanska USA Building Inc. She isresponsible for the cost management of large-scale multimillion-dollar construction programs. Ms. Heider’s 27 years of professional experienceinclude all phases of design and construction,from master planning through project closeout asa licensed architect, construction manager, costmanager and value engineering (VE) facilitator.She has prepared reports for the Public BuildingService (PBS) on the cost implications of federalinitiatives, including workplace productivity andsecurity and for the Administrative Office of theU.S. Courts on public space.

Ms. Heider chairs Skanska USA’s Green Council, which provides nationwideleadership, resources and training in support of Skanska’s commitment tosustainable design and construction. She is a Vice President on the Boardof Directors of the Construction Sciences Research Foundation and hasserved on a number of task forces, most recently for the USGBC and theUniversity of Virginia.

She graduated with a B.S. in architecture from the University of Virginia andparticipated in the University of Virginia’s Architectural Graduate Programin Venice, Italy. From 1999 to 2004, she served as an adjunct professor atthe Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

Gunvor Engström was born 1950 in India. She ismarried to Jan Engström and has two grown upchildren. She lives in Stockholm, and is a graduateof Handelshögskolan in Stockholm (School ofEconomics).

Gunvor Engström has a background as both anentrepreneur and employee and has also workeda several years in the government offices. Gunvor Engström became President ofForetagarna (The Federation of Private Enterprises)in June 2002.

Gunvor Engström is Member of the Board of sever-al Swedish foundations.

Helena Stålnert is the Communications Director atSaab Group, where she has served since June2005. As Group Senior Vice-President forCommunications and Public Affairs, Ms. Stålnert isa member of Saab’s distinguished managementteam.

Ms. Stålnert brings many years of media experi-ence to Saab, with experience in journalism inSweden and abroad. Beginning in 1987, sheserved within the Swedish broadcaster SverigesTelevision (Public Service). Ms. Stålnert worked as abusiness and political reporter, a correspondent inBrussels and Editor-in-Chief of the leading newsprogram “Aktuellt.”

Ms. Stålnert was also head of the news department for the Swedish businessweekly Veckans Affärer and a business reporter for the Swedish dailySvenska Dagbladet.

Carina Håkansson is the Senior Vice President andManaging Director of Wood Supply Sweden,which has an annual turnover of 987 million Euroand employs 630 people. Ms. Håkansson graduat-ed with a Masters in Forestry in 1990, and immedi-ately started work as a trainee at Stora Enso. Afterthat, she was promoted to the position ofCommunication Manager for Stora Enso Skog,and held the position for three years. Later, sheworked as an Assistant Forest District Manager forthree years before being appointed RegionalManager in 1998.Ms. Håkansson is the chairman of the board ofSydved AB, and serves on the boards of Stora

Lotta Mossberg is the Managing Director at TäbyGalopp racetrack, 20 kilometres north ofStockholm. Ms. Mossberg joined the Täby Galopporganization in 2003 as the first woman in her posi-tion. Täby Galopp is the premier track in the threeScandinavian countries where horseracing is run:Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The track stagesapproximately 50 days of racing per year.

Lotta Mossberg was a journalist from 1977 to 2003,working in the newspaper, radio and televisionindustries. In the 1980s, Ms. Mossberg was a newsanchor at Dagens Eko, in Sveriges Radio (PublicService), after which she served as a foreign cor-

respondent for a couple of years. Beginning in 1989, she worked at TV4 —the largest commercial TV channel in Sweden – and continued pursuingher journalism career there for the next 15 years. Ms. Mossberg held theposition of news anchor, morning show anchor and reporter.

Sanna Lindberg is president of U.S. operations at H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, one of the world’s lead-ing fashion retailers. Ms. Lindberg joined H&M in1987 as a part-time sales associate and has heldan impressive variety of head office and country-level management roles during her 18-yearcareer at the company. In the fall of 2002, Ms.Lindberg moved to New York City where shebecame the head of U.S. operations. It’s in thisrole that she currently works to cultivate a coreteam of experts who can continue to grow theH&M brand within the United States.

As an experienced and versatile internationalemployee, Ms. Lindberg has held management positions - traversing sever-al business divisions - in Germany, England and France.

In 1999, Ms. Lindberg returned to Stockholm to work as the company’sglobal marketing director. She held this position until 2001, when she wasnamed president of the company’s operations in Switzerland.

A native of Jönköping, Sweden, Ms. Lindberg studied sports education andmanaged a youth sports league with the notion that would use her skills insports to eventually work with special needs children. Ms. Lindberg’s tenurewith H&M, as well as her travels, has made her fluent in five languages:Swedish, English, German, French, and Danish. She currently resides outsideof New York City in suburban Connecticut.

Susan J. Kohlmann is a partner at the law firm ofPillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in New York City.As chair of the firm’s New York IntellectualProperty Department, Ms. Kohlmann handlesEmerging Growth & Technology, Litigation,Trademarks, Europe, and IP & TechnologyLitigation, in addition to Copyrights. Ms. Kohlmann received a B.A. from Yale University in 1979. She received herJ.D. from Columbia in 1982, where she was the Casenote and CommentEditor of the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, and where she alsoreceived the Jane Marks Murphy Prize. She is admitted to practice in theState of New York.

Louise Julian is the CEO of EF Education, theworld’s largest private educational institution. Ms. Julian joined EF in 1985 and embarked on acareer path that brought her close to her lifelongpassions — education, travel, language learningand cultural exchange. Throughout her tenure,she has held positions of increasing levels ofresponsibility in Italy, France, Sweden, Switzerlandand the United States. She was appointedChairman in 1996 for EF Educational Tours andCEO in 2002 for EF Education.

Prior to joining EF, Ms. Julian worked forScandinavian Pacific Institute, a private chamber

of commerce. She also worked in public relations for Coca-Cola for threeyears.

In March 2004, the Swedish economics magazine Veckans Affärer rankedher Sweden’s most powerful woman. The October 25, 2004, issue of Fortuneranked her no. 35 among the world’s most powerful women.

Ms. Julian received a business degree and a language degree from theUniversity of Stockholm. She also studied French at the University ofSorbonne in Paris. She is a member of the international Young President’sOrganization and is fluent in Swedish, Italian, French and English.
