Women Empowerment Cell

Report

Women empowerment cell established in our college to empower girl students to enhance

understanding of issues related to women, to develop, promote and disseminate knowledge about

their role in society. It provides a platform to share their experiences and voices regarding their

status in society and suggests ways to improve and empower themselves.

Aim: Strengthening communities by empowering women and elevating their position in terms of

capacity building.

Objectives:

To sensitive the students on the need for empowerment of women.

To help them understand their strengths and potential.

To conduct seminars, workshops and awareness programs- to impart knowledge of

opportunities and rights.

To train and empower the girl students.

To provide advisory, consultancy and counseling services.

To help them to identify inherent talents and develop skills.

Constitution of the committee

Every year in consultation with faculty members the Head of the Institution constitutes Women

Empowerment Cell to plan and execute women awareness activities.

Initiatives:-

The committee plans and executes several initiatives for the benefit of the students.

Women empowerment cell is very actively working in the college aiming at Intellectual

and social upliftment of female students. The cell stands for facilitating women’s

empowerment through seminars, awareness programs and providing advisory and

counseling services.

Conducted certificate course in Tailoring Trade in collaboration with Women and Child

Welfare Agency - Govt. of A.P. in 2013 for, 52 days and trained 30 students. Two

students were provided with sewing machines by Women and Child Welfare Department.

Dr.Ch.Nagamani was awarded with state second best Women Empowerment Cell

Coordinator for her enlightening services, at Youth Festival by CCE, Hyderabad.

Impact:

Many of the students felt that these programs are highly effective and beneficial to them.

They were made aware of women’s rights, importance of Women Empowerment and these

programs also helped in improving self confidence and building capacities. The evidence was

based on the feedback received from them.
