SAA

In order to facilitate the placement of orphaned, abandoned and surrendered

children for adoption, the Juvenile Justice Act 2006 empowers the State Govt.

To recognize one or more of its institutions or

voluntary organizations in each district as SAA

State Adoption Agency (SAA)• HSCCW has been placing abandoned and

relinquished children in

both - In country and Inter Country adoption, since

1981

• State Govt has recognized Shishu Greh, Rai for Inter

country

adoptions which has been placing children for

adoption since 1997

Both these placement Agencies

Provide the children with Comfortable Stay, Child

care, Medical and nutritional facilities etc

Are well equipped with special arrangements of taking care of children

with high risk of infection, premature birth,

low birth weight and children with normal

health status

Funds to the tune of Rs 3.15 lakh have been released for upgradation of Shishu

Greh, Panchkula

State has also considered Shishu Greh, Rai, to be upgraded and converted to a Model Home by the next

financial year. A sum of Rs 9.20 lakh has been released for the project
