provided as an escape light for
personnel in confined spaces if
faced with an emergency situation.

marked in compliance with the
94/9/EC Explosive Atmospheres
(ATEX) Directive for use in a wide
range of potentially explosive
atmospheres. The Wolf Ex-Penlite
has been approved to Apparatus
group IIC, allowing use in all
potentially explosive gases,
vapours and mists, up to T4
temperature class, in zone 1 & 2
(category 2) hazardous areas.
The Wolf Ex-Penlite has a brass
body with satin plated finish, and a
threaded lens cap with plastic lens,
removable for bulb and battery
replacement. A push button switch
is fitted on the end for easy, single
handed, operation. A pen clip is
also incorporated in the design,
allowing the Ex-Penlite to be
securely retained in a pocket, and
preventing roll on a flat surface.
Electro-static hazards are avoided
with the use of a metal body.
Utilising a 2.25V, 0.25A lensed
bulb, the Wolf Ex-Penlite emits
an excellent uniform, wide angled
beam, ideally suited to short
distance work. Approvals allow the
use of all R03 (AAA) standard and
specified LR03 high power alkaline
cells; alkaline cells providing a
continuous duration of up to five
hours. Use of rechargeable cells
is prohibited.
The Wolf Ex-Penlite is supplied
complete with cells, an EC
Declaration of Conformity and
user instructions. A copy of the
Wolf Ex-Penlite EC Type
Examination Certificate is

T4 models give outstanding lightoutput using advanced, long lifehalogen or xenon bulbs, set in a high quality parabolic reflector,coupled with alkaline cell approval,giving up to 12 hours of light output.The T4 halogen models are fittedwith a low power warning circuit,illuminating a red indicator whenbattery voltage is low. AlternativelyT6 approval allows use in any Zone1 or 2 atmospheres, with optimumlight output in this temperatureclass, and a 5 hour duration.
The Wolf ATEX Torch range is CEmarked compliant with the 94/9/ECATEX Explosive AtmospheresEquipment Directive. BASEEFACertification is to the lateststandards, for use in potentiallyexplosive gas, vapour and mistatmospheres, zones 1 and 2,temperature class T6 or T4. Dustignition protection covers use inzones 21 and 22, with the certifiedmaximum surface temperatures of65°C or 95°C. The Wolf Intrinsically Safe Torchrange comprises four modelsdesigned to meet a wide scope of requirements. The robustlyconstructed torches are moulded in high impact thermoplastic resinfor lasting durability and servicerequirements. Compact and simpleto use, the torches are designed for use in potentially explosiveatmospheres, emergency situationsor wherever the need arises for a handheld safety torch.
The range complies with the94/9/EC ATEX Directive asCategory 2 equipment, and isapproved to the latest European“EN” Standards for “Electricalapparatus for potentially explosiveatmospheres”. This allows for use in Group II applications, Zones 1and 2, IIA and IIB gases where T4 temperature class permits.
Common uses are in Fire-fightingas Breathing Apparatus (BA)torches, Gas distribution, Watertreatment, and wherever explosivegases and vapours accumulate in confined spaces.
A unique and highly acclaimedfeature of the torches is the OpticalFocusing System. The parabolicmirror is computer designed toprovide variable beam adjustmentfrom a powerful spot to broaderfloodlit illumination, through the high impact lens.
The torches are available as two cellstraight head (T-2DC), two cell right
angle head (T-2DCRA), three cellstraight head (T-3DC) and three cell right angle head (T-3DCRA).
The 0.5A bulbs used (2.4v in twocell, 3.6v in three cell models) arehigh efficiency bulbs giving a highlevel of light output.
The Ex. construction is also unique,incorporating two separateexplosion protected enclosures; a lockable ‘Increased Safety’enclosure containing the internal
rotating switch and bulb, and an‘Intrinsically Safe’ enclosure for the primary cells.
Each torch comes complete with a lock release pin, wrist lanyard and maintenance instructions.Certification is for any Zinc R20 size type primary cell.

The Wolf Rechargeable Torch is CE marked to the ATEX Directive,allowing use in zones 1 and 2potentially explosive gas, vapour,mist and dust atmospheres, where a T4 temperature class permits.
The compact and lightweight WolfRechargeable Torch design has a high-grip ergonomic form with easy single handed switching, even with gloved hands. The highstrength torch body has provenimpact resistance even at sub zero temperatures. The rubberarmoured lens ring and end capgive enhanced grip and shock
protection. The shatterproof polycarbonate lens has a scratchand chemical resistant coating. Theenclosure is sealed dust tight andprotected from water immersion,with a certified IP67 enclosure. The right-angle body arrangementincorporates a replaceable highstrength thermoplastic belt clip for hands free use.
Unique optics deliver a piercingbeam with outstanding light outputfrom the high power LED or thehalogen bulb versions. Duration is over 3 hours; selecting lowpower doubles this duration. Stateof battery charge is indicated witha bar of high intensity red LEDs,which go out as battery chargediminishes. Towards the end ofdischarge, the beam flashes offrepeatedly, warning recharging is required. Use of the latest
lithium-ion battery technologyimproves reliability and eliminates‘memory’ affect.
The RC-200 Charger is configuredas a torch holder, and will ‘quick’charge a torch in 2.5 hours. Amajor feature is the single-handed,‘snap-in/snatch-out’ function, forquick release but secure retention,even with vehicle vibration. Thecharger is powered from vehiclevoltages, but can run from mainsvoltage when used with the RC-300 mains power supply.
Very low maintenance and quickcomponent replacement are keybenefits of this product range. The LED light source is expected to last the product lifetime; the bulbis long life, a spare is supplied inthe torch. All models are suppliedwith wrist straps and clip rings.

The Wolflite H-4DCA primary cellpowered safety handlamp is one of the latest versions of the highlysuccessful, industry standard rangeof Wolflite Ex handlamps, from The Wolf Safety Lamp Company.
Approved by BASEEFA, the WolfliteH-4DCA has been ‘CE’ marked in compliance with the 94/9/EC‘Explosive Atmospheres’ (ATEX)Directive, for use in a wide range of potentially explosive gases,vapours, mists and dusts.Conformance to the ATEX directivewill reassure the user that the H-4DCA handlamp has beendesigned and approved to the verylatest editions and interpretations ofthe relevant European standards,that it complies with all ‘essentialsafety requirements’, and has been designed with due regard to state-of-the-art technology. ATEX Directive Approval alsoensures continuity of supply beyond the year 2003.
Additionally the H-4DCA handlamphas both a Lloyd’s and an MCA type approval for use in explosiveatmospheres in marine applications.
The lamp is constructed from anew, exceptionally robust andhighly durable thermoplasticmaterial, well able to withstand the effects of heavy industrial use. In addition to this, the material isanti-static, preventing the build upof potentially dangerous electro-static charges. A 6mm thick,toughened, scratch resistant glasslens with rubber seal, together witha second seal fitted at the lens ringand lamp body joint, ensure that
the lamp is protected from ingressof dusts and liquids and cantherefore be used in the dustiestand wettest conditions possible.
The outstanding light output fromthis relatively small and compacthandlamp is achieved with the useof a high output, high efficiencyhalogen bulb, rated at 4.8V 0.5A,focused within a 100mm diameterparabolic reflector. This provides theuser with an extremely well definedbeam of intense white colour.
The H-4DCA handlamp has beenapproved for use with alkalinemanganese, zinc chloride or zinccarbon primary cells. The use ofalkaline manganese cells isrecommended because of theirsignificantly greater capacity,delivering a brighter white light forup to 20 hours duration from oneset of cells; by comparison, nearlyfour times the duration of zinc Dcells. The H-4DCA is suppliedcomplete with a convenientremovable shoulder strap.

The H-251A Wolflite Handlampoffers the same extreme robustnessand reliability for use in harshenvironments found with all WolfliteHandlamps. The scratch and impactresistant lens is made from 6mmtoughened glass. The handlampbody and lens ring is moulded in ahighly resilient thermoplastic materialable to withstand the drop andimpact expected from heavyindustrial use, even at sub-zerotemperatures. Additionally thematerial is electrostatic non-hazardous, ensuring there is no risk of a dangerous build up of static charges. The lamp enclosureis sealed to IP66, preventing theingress of dust and sealing against water in all conditions except submersion.
The outstanding light output isachieved with the use of a highoutput, high efficiency long life halogen bulb, focused within a 100mm diameter parabolicreflector giving the user anextremely well defined beam of intense white light.
The battery pack, rechargedinternally within the H-251AHandlamp, uses the same highlyreliable sealed lead acid system as all rechargeable WolfliteHandlamps, but is enhanced withelectronic protection and controls.The battery is rendered intrinsicallysafe by the use of a fast switchingshort-circuit protection circuit. A low voltage cut-off featureautomatically switches the lamp offwhen all useful battery capacity hasbeen used, protecting the battery
from damage through deepdischarge. Power-failure modeallows the handlamp to be used as an escape light, automaticallyilluminating if power to the charger is interrupted.
The H-251A is recharged in thestandard Wolflite Lamp chargers,the C-251HV mains charger andthe C-251LV vehicle charger.
The H-251A is supplied with aconvenient removable shoulder strap.

WOLFLITE HANDLAMP H-251 Mk1/Mk2
The Wolflite H-251 is arechargeable Handlamp approvedto European and BASEEFAstandards and suitable for use inhazardous zones 1 and 2. Since its launch in 1980 the Wolflite hasfound a place as the market leaderin hazardous area portable lightingequipment. Applications include the Petrochemical and Offshoreindustries, Fire-fighting, Gas and Water distribution, in shortwherever a potentially explosiveatmosphere may occur.
The Wolflite is constructed in ahighly durable polymer, designed to withstand the effects of heavyindustrial use. The glass lens isscratch and scuff resistant and willnot discolour when in contact withchemicals. The entire product hasbeen ‘drop’ tested for damage and both the outer and innercomponents proved equally highly resilient.
Many unique design features are incorporated in the H-251Handlamp, including; an interlockmechanism preventing internalaccess when the lamp is in use,short circuit protection via aceramic fuse and a magneticallyoperated, hermetically sealed Reed Switch to avoid open internal sparking.
The rechargeable battery pack ismade up of two sealed lead acidcells assembled into a robustcasing. This battery pack has a recharge/discharge life ofapproximately 500 cycles.
Available in two versions, the H-251Mk1 has a removable battery pack
and remote battery charging unit sothat, if the user has two or morebattery packs, the lamp can alwaysbe available for use. The H-251Mk2 has charging contacts on thebase of the lamp to enable batterycharging ‘in situ’ using the lampcharger. The H-251 Mk2 Lampchargers are available for mains(120/230v) input or low voltage (12-32v) input for use in vehicles. All chargers have Light EmittingDiodes which indicate state ofcharge, a rating plate on the chargerexplains the sequence of this.
The Wolflite H-251 Handlampsconform with the DOT Class I‘Safety Lamp’ specification,Regulation 17 of the SOLASprotocol and have been issued with a Lloyds Register of ShippingType Approval Certificate.

The Wolf ‘Zone 0’ Headtorch HT-200 is a primary cell poweredhead lamp with LED light source. It is ATEX approved for safe use in Zone 0 Hazardous Areas and isideal for applications where handsfree lighting is essential, particularlywhere access is difficult, requiringclimbing or crawling.
The HT-200 Headtorch has beenCertified by Baseefa for use inexplosive atmospheres. The Wolf ‘Zone 0’ Headtorch has a compact, lightweight design and is constructed from a robustand highly durable thermoplasticmaterial, which is inherently anti-static, minimising the risk of ignitionfrom static charges. The lens istreated with a scratch resistantanti-static coating and the lensmodule is fitted with a rubbershroud, protecting the product fromimpact damage, ensuring suitabilityin industrial applications. The HT-200 has a metal locking clasp,securing the headtorch batteryenclosure to prevent accidentalopening in the hazardous area, but designed for quick removalallowing easy cell replacement.
Seven high intensity, everlasting,white LEDs give 50 hours durationat full brightness from one set of
three AA alkaline primary cells (upto 240 hours with reduced output).The use of primary cells makes the product a more economicalsolution for personal lightingrequirements in many applicationsarising in Hazardous Area confinedspaces. Three switching levels,selected using the push buttonintegral to the rubber shroud,ensure a wide range of options for duration and brightness. The lamp head can be pivoted,allowing for easy control of thelight output direction up or down.
The HT-200 is designed to give theuser effective hands free lighting. The Duo ATEX is a rechargeableheadband lamp approved for safeuse in potentially explosive gas,vapour and mist atmospheres. It is the ideal lighting solution forworkers in confined spaces andhazardous areas, needing a ‘handsfree’ lamp, which will direct abeam of light wherever they look.
CE marking in compliance with the94/9/EC explosive atmospheres‘ATEX’ Directive confirms that theDuo ATEX is compliant with thelatest European legislation, and is safe for use in zone 1 and 2hazardous areas, where the T3 temperature class permits.
The Duo ATEX comprises of ahead unit and a battery box joinedby a cable, and mounted on an
elastic headband. Both head unitand battery box are sealed ‘waterresistant’ and are constructed from high quality impact resistantplastic materials. The lens isshatterproof polycarbonate. The headband is adjustable, for use on a head or a hardhat. Helmet clips are available for hardhatuse, as additional items, to securethe elasticated straps in place.
The Duo ATEX incorporates twolight sources, selected using anexternally mounted switch withlock feature to prevent accidentalswitching. The 2 watt filament bulbhas a ‘zoom’ function, allowingbeam adjustment from narrow spot to wide angle flood and gives a duration of up to 7 hours.
Alternatively, the bright, white LEDlight source offers energy efficientclose-up illumination for up to 24hours. The LEDs will run for up to160 hours, but at a reduced lightoutput. The head unit will pivot up or down for accurate beampositioning. A spare bulb issupplied, fitted inside the head unit.
The rechargeable battery pack is short-circuit protected tointrinsically safe levels and is safeto be removed and replaced in thehazardous area. The Duo ATEX is supplied with a mains “quick”charger, fully charging a completelydischarged battery pack in 4 hours.Alternatively a vehicle charger isavailable to charge the battery from a 12v vehicle supply.

The Wolf Ex GLS Leadlamp is acost effective explosionproof lampfor use in many hazardous areaapplications. It is ideal for localisedinspection and maintenanceoperations over extended periods.
The Ex GLS Leadlamp is ATEXcompliant and approved for use inzones 1 and 2 hazardous areas,for IIA gases where a T3temperature class permits. This gives the lamp the versatility of use in many potentially explosiveatmospheres including methane,petroleum and propane.
The lamp for the Ex GLS Leadlampis a standard 230V 60W GLSrough service ES. This gives a good ambient light, ideal for plantinspection and maintenance duties.
The Ex GLS Leadlamp light sourceis protected by a toughened glassdome, which is able to withstandchanges in temperature, preventingthe risk of failure from thermalshock. A steel cage guard with castiron locking ring minimises the riskof direct impact damage, furtherprotecting the glass. The guard and ring are plated to prevent
corrosion. Finally, the resilientrubber construction incorporatestwo rubber rings on both the topand bottom of the steel guard.These are ideal for absorbing thegeneral impact expected fromindustrial use.
User benefits in operating theLeadlamp include a rubber handlefor enhanced grip, a convenient
retractable hook incorporated in the steel guard by which thehandlamp can be hung, and aweight of just over 2Kg.

The Wolf Flameproof Leadlampis a lightweight portableFloodlight for use in potentiallyexplosive atmospheres. It complies with the ATEXDirective (94/9/EC) and has been certified to the EuropeanEN50014 series of standards bythe German test house DMT, foruse in zones 1 and 2, group II(surface industry) hazardous area applications. It is approved for safe use in all potentiallyexplosive gas, vapour and mistatmospheres to gas group IIC,where the T3/T4 temperatureclass permits.
Three different versions of theLeadlamp are available, with theoption of powering from a 12, 24or 42 Volt supply. Bulb ratingsvary from 55 to 70 Watts, allversions offering unparalleledlight output over an extremelywide 100° solid cone of light,ideal for confined spaceoperations.
The Flameproof Leadlamp has a die cast aluminium alloyconstruction making the productlightweight and portable, ideal forcarrying during extended shifts in offshore and onshore cleaningoperations. The Leadlamp isconstructed as a flameproofenclosure, containing thehalogen bulb, switch andconnecting wires. A flameproofthreaded joint allows internalaccess, making bulbreplacement and other minormaintenance a quick and simple
operation. A large hexagonalrubber moulded guard is fitted to the outside of the head of thelamp, ensuring the glass lens andthe flameproof threaded joint areboth protected from drop orimpact damage. The handle ismoulded in tough high impactplastic and fitted with a cableclamp, and provides protectionfor the increased safety clampedcable terminals.
Flameproof leadlamps are usedextensively in many explosiveatmosphere applications,particularly in cleaning, grit
blasting and painting operationsin tanks, silos and pipelines.
Cables and plugs of theappropriate rating and duty must be used. In explosiveatmospheres ‘Ex’ componentcertified plugs, sockets andsuitable fusing are required.

Used extensively in the petrochemical,oil and marine industries, WolfAirlamps provide illumination in manyapplications including shotblasting,cleaning and coating of storagetanks and vessels, and for pipelineand structural engineering activities,offering a safer alternative to mainsand low voltage lighting whereexplosive atmospheres present a serious risk to the workforce.
The standard range consists of two models, both produced in
high strength aluminium alloy. The A-TL44A ‘Bay Light’ versionprovides a high level of all-roundgeneral illumination. The A-TL45A‘Floodlight’ version has a reflectorhead with a matt reflector giving awide-angle diffused beam.
The ‘A’ suffix denotes ATEXlightweight aluminium models,reducing Turbolite weight toapproximately half that of thebrass airlamps. Alternative ‘B’ suffixmodels A-TL44B and A-TL45B arealso ATEX but with brass housings,usable in gassy mines. All lamps are nickel plated to protect againstcorrosion and are supplied with a bridle and safety hook fitted.
The Turbolite is powered, purged,pressurised and cooled bycompressed air controlled by anintegral regulator, which passesthrough the lamp head and drivesthe turbine wheel by means of threenozzle plates. The turbine drives amagnet rotor within windings,
generating the 24 Volt ac electricalsupply which powers the 250 Watthalogen bulb.
Major improvements over theexisting models, include sealedbearings, a refined regulator, greateruse of stainless steel components, a bulb-life enhancing device and a new silencer, incorporating aparticle trap.
Special conditions of certificationfor all Turbolites are that clean, drycompressed air and anti-static airhose are used to operate the lamp,minimising contamination inside thelamp and dangerous accumulationof static electricity. When used in potentially explosive dustatmospheres a ‘remote exhaust’must be used, exhausting air to the safe area.

The LT-2000 series LiteTracker, and LiteTracker Bikelite are thelatest developments from theLiteTracker range for indication and illumination in explosiveatmospheres.
The LiteTracker is ideal as apersonal indicator to identify theposition of workers in confinedspaces. Alternatively, it can beswitched to torch mode and used as a mini flashlight for close inspection work.
The LiteTracker Bikelite is adevelopment for bicycle users onchemical sites. It can be fitted to a bicycle frame and will highlight a cyclists’ position, maximisingvisibility in low light and night time conditions.
All LiteTracker versions arecompliant with the 94/9/EC ATEXDirective for use in potentiallyexplosive atmospheres, and can be used in Zones 0, 1 & 2hazardous areas, within T4temperature classification.
All models utilise a high intensity LEDlight source that can be seen at nighttime from distances of up to onekilometre, and will last the life of theproduct. The LiteTracker is availablein five different colours, the mainapplication being for the white LT-131model, for use as a Zone 0 mini torch.The LiteTracker Bikelite is available in white (front) and red (rear).
Low running cost is guaranteed with the use of two standard alkalineLR03 (AAA) batteries, delivering an
8 – 10 hour duration on torch mode,up to 50 hour on flash sequence, or a 30 hour strobe light output.Different outputs (torch-flash-strobe)can be selected using the topmounted push-button switch.
The LiteTracker has a high strengthpolycarbonate casing with a metalgrip clip and D ring fitting forattachment to webbing or clothing.The LiteTracker Bikelite is suppliedwith a stainless steel bracketattached to the polycarbonate case, and a bicycle frame bracket towhich the Bikelite can be easily fitted,or removed for storage in a pocket.

The HL-95 Wolf Hazard Lamp is asemi-portable, free standingilluminated warning device for usein zone 0, 1 or 2 hazardous areas.Approved to the European EN50range of standards called up in theATEX Directive for “ElectricalApparatus for Potentially ExplosiveAtmospheres” and carrying the CEmark with Baseefa (2001) NotifiedBody number. The Wolf HazardLamp is a unique product amongstportable “Ex” lighting equipment.
The HL-95 is powered by an air-depolarised primary cell battery.The use of this battery technologyis ideal in such an application dueto the exceptionally high capacityavailable from the relatively small,light weight package size. A singlebattery, used in the flashing lightoutput mode, provides continuousduration for up to 1500 hours, ortwo months. In static mode wherethe lamp is continuously lit, theduration will be up to 500 hours.Operation of the lamp andselection of flashing or static modeis made from a single three positiontoggle switch mounted on theoutside of the lamp. A furtherextension to the duration of thebattery output can be achieved byselecting “daylight cut-out mode”via the internally mounted selectionswitch. If the lamp is being usedout of doors a light dependantresistor will detect when darknessfalls and accordingly activate the lamp. Equally, when light levels increase, the lamp willautomatically switch off, conservingbattery energy. It is estimated that a lamp set to flashing and in daylight cut-out mode couldoperate for up to six months from a single battery.
The HL-95 has two lensespositioned “back to back”. Light isprovided by a pair of “everlasting”light emitting diodes. The use ofsuch solid state devices allows thelamp to be sited in zone 0, 1 or 2hazardous areas. The light emittingdiodes are coloured amber asstandard or red to special orderand are positioned behind atransparent plastic lens, coloured tocorrespond with the light emitted.
The lens is protected from damageby a stainless steel guard fitteddirectly to the impact resistantpolypropylene lamp body.
Maintenance and user instructionsand a lock key are supplied witheach lamp.
