Participating Societies All subspecialty society members of the International Council of Ophthalmology are invited to develop one or more scientific session, as are other selected ophthalmic organizations. To date, 50 societies have agreed to organize 58 scientific sessions. Those societies and the topics for their sessions are listed in the first attachment. The Subspecialty Days were organized in cooperation with the following MEACO subspecialty societies:
• Middle East Africa Cataract & Refractive Surgery Society (MEACRS) • Middle East Africa Glaucoma Society (MEAGS) • Middle East Africa Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus society (MEAPOSS) • Middle East Africa Oculoplastic Society (MEAOPS) • Middle East Africa Vitreo Retinal Society (MEAVRS).
Invited Program Coordinators, Chairs and Speakers Leading ophthalmologists from around the world have been invited to serve as Coordinators for the invited scientific program for each of the subspecialties and topics listed above. For most topics, there is one Coordinator each from the Americas, Asia-‐Pacific and Europe, with two from the Middle East/Africa. The Coordinators defined topics for scientific sessions in their subspecialty or topic area and are inviting three Chairs to organize each scientific session. The Chairs will organize individual sessions; invite speakers and moderate the session at the Congress in Abu Dhabi. Coordinators will be asked to avoid overlap between the sessions they organize, the programs of the subspecialty days and the sessions organized by societies. The Coordinators who have agreed to participate to date are listed. Submitted Program Ophthalmologists are invited to submit abstracts online to present free papers, posters, videos or courses at http://www.woc2012.org/call_for_papers.html. Free papers will either be integrated into symposia or presented in stand-‐alone free paper sessions. Posters will be available online. Schedule/Deadlines

Coordinators are encouraged to use a variety of formats for the different sessions and to incorporate discussion among the speakers and opportunities for interaction with the audience.
All scientific sessions will be 90 minutes and we expect most presentations to be 10 minutes. So most symposia will have six speakers, 10 minutes each, with time for
