Ken’s Korner From Ken… Easter Services…. Palm Sunday Lord’s Supper during the Morning Worship Service will be a special time of preparing ourselves for Easter. The body and blood of Jesus Christ was broken and shed for a reason that we need to remember, celebrate and worship Him for doing. I look forward to seeing each of you this Sunday.

Good Friday Noon Worship Service will be held this year at the Walhalla Presbyterian Church. Lunch will be served at noon with a 30-minute time of worship to follow at 12:30 p.m. We thank our sister church for opening their church home to the community for this very special time of coming together as a community to worship the Risen Lord.

Easter Service is March 27th. If you are not providentially hindered from being present, I

encourage every member of College Street Baptist Church to be in attendance. The resur-rection of Jesus Christ is the most important historical event that has ever taken place. Your salvation is the most important decision you will ever make. Praising Him for His goodness is the least that we can do especially on this most Holy Day of our faith. See you in church.

Spring Break Home Mission Service… our local Baptist Ministers are preparing for three days of “Home Missions” here in Walhalla and the surrounding areas. We have a couple of other churches from outside of Walhalla also involved. We will need help painting and doing minor repairs as well as other times to work with area youth. A sign-up sheet will be in the main building this Sunday for you to consider how you might help on any or all these days. Let’s work together as we did with the Hickory Hill Baptist Church project.

Hickory Hill Baptist Church Follow-Up! We will plan one more trip to Hickory Hill to do one specific task. We need help putting down vinyl tile flooring. The dates are April 14-17. I will have a sign-up sheet available or you may e-mail me regarding your availability. If you have questions, please let me know.

Finally, on last Sunday I spoke to the church regarding our vision and mission locally. I said that every church should 1.) glorify God, 2.) let God be their guide, 3.) be “salt” and “light” in our community and 4.) “love one another and our neighbors” as God loved us.

I can’t think of a better way to fulfill all these imperatives than to touch the lives of children throughout the Walhalla area in the name of Jesus Christ. In the coming weeks you will notice some pro-active changes to our ministry and outreach to our community, especially through the children. My prayer is that you will find your place somewhere among the many places of service.

Still needed are additional volunteers during the morning services with both ETC and C-Street Kids. A couple of more drivers of the mini-bus wouldn’t hurt either.

I want to say thank you in advance for almost two years of outstanding, loving and committed service to everyone that has made MARK, BIBLE QUEST, ETC, and C-STREET KIDS such a blessing to so many children. To God be the glory!

- Ken Reid, Pastor

How do we begin to thank you for all you’ve been to our family through the years? Daddy loved his church and its’ people

so much! Thank you for the Wednesday night meals, visits, cards and prayers. The church was a beautiful and fitting place for

his last journey here. I think he would have been pleased. And lastly, thank you for the delicious meal you prepared for our
