PARK

The Henryk Sienkiewicz Park is

one of the oldest parks in Poland.

It lies at the mouth of The

Zgłowiączka River, which flows

into The Vistula River. It is

located in the center of the city

and you can see there the

Cathedral of the Assumption of

the Blessed Virgin Mary. The park

was founded in 1870.

BRIDGEThe Bridge, named in

honour of Edward Śmigły-

Rydz, who was a significant

citizen of the city, is a steel

truss bridge over the Vistula

River. The bridge is 620

meters long and 9 meters

wide. It was built in 1937. It

was named after Edwarda

Śmigłego-Rydza, one of the

honorary citizens of the city.

HARBOUR AND

BOULEVARD

The pier, named

Marina located on

the boulevard is the

place designed for

relaxation and

meetings. Built in

2014.

The Jozef Pilsudski

Boulevard stretches along

the Vistula River. In 2010

it started to be

modernized nad has

become a great place for

walks and vacation spot

for residents.

CHURCH ŚW. JANA

CHRZCICIELASaint John the Baptist Church.

was built in 1538.

The building stands by the

Vistula River and the Old

Market Square.

Church is a late

baroque and rococo

style.

WZORCOWNIA

Wzorcownia - the

largest shopping and

entertainment center in

Włocławek.

CATHEDRALThe gothic cathedral built from 1340

to 1411 r. and founded by the bishop

Matthias of Gołańczy. The renovation

designed by Konstantin

Wojciechowski started in 1890. and

was strongly transformed in the spirit

of neo-Gothic church style.

In 1907. the Pope Pius X

named

it the Basilica Minor

Cathedral.

In 1991. the temple was

visited by Jan Paweł II.

PLAC WOLNOŚCI

The Freedom Square- one of

the busiest squares in

Wloclawek. There used to be

the Orthodox Church,

considered to be one of the

most beautiful churches in the

Polish Kingdom.

SPORT The Hall of Champions- the

sports hall in Wloclawek. It is

the place where Anwil's

matches or others as well as

contests and concerts take

place. Anwil is well- known

basketball team in Poland.

Wloclawian Basketball

Association Anwil - Polish

basketball club, playing in the

Polish Basketball League

continuously since 1992.
