ATLANTIC CITY: Going to Revel Casino? Don’t forget your smokes…

Revel, which is Atlantic City’s only smoke-free casino to date, will soon allow its visitors to

light up their cigarettes.

After filing for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Monday night, the $2.4 billion resort says they will create

a designated smoking area on the gambling floor.

They believe that being smoke-free is one of the reasons the casino struggled.

Revel filed $1.1 billion in assets and $1.5 billion in liabilities.

The restructuring will clear 82 percent of the casino’s debt, leaving it with $272 million in debt.

Tiger Woods came back swinging.

And so did his critics…

Woods regained his position as the world’s number one golfer after taking a win at the Arnold

Palmer Invitational Monday. His number one sponsor quickly celebrated and the Internet quickly

turned on him.

In a post on Twitter and Facebook that went viral, Nike created and ad with a photo of Woods

and a caption that says “Winning Takes Care of Everything.”

Many people were angered by the ad, deeming it as an inappropriate comment on Woods’s

private life, as if winning takes care of the affairs and the scandals the golfer was involved in.

Nike released a statement saying the ad refers to Woods’s goal of regaining his position as

number one golfer and that it does not refer at all to his private life.

Despite all the controversy surrounding him, Tiger Woods is still the third highest- paid

professional athlete.

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Supreme Court justices are struggling over whether or not to extend

marriage rights to same-sex couples in California.

Tuesday morning the court heard Proposition 8, a case that could drastically change how states

and the federal government approach one of the touchiest social issues of the past decade.

As lawyers on both sides were challenged, all eyes were on Justice Anthony Kennedy, whose

vote could be essential in the case.

At one point Kennedy spoke of the children of gay couples, noting that they wanted their parents'

unions to be recognized. "The voice of these children is important," he said.

Kennedy also questioned whether the court should be considering Prop 8 and whether gay-

marriage opponents had the legal right to defend Prop 8, after California officials declined to

appeal its overturning.

Along with another case scheduled for Today, in which the court will consider a challenge to the

federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) ban on gay marriage, the Prop 8 case likely will lead

to at least one landmark decision to be cited by advocates and opponents of same-sex marriage

for decades to come.

The Supreme Court is slated to issue rulings by the end of June.

In case you haven’t heard by now, Italy’s Supreme Court ruled Tuesday to overturn Amanda

Knox’s acquittal.

Knox and her then boyfriend, Raffael Sollecito, were convicted in 2009 after a lengthy and

controversial trial for the murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher in 2007. Knox was

sentenced to 26 years in prison while Sollecito got 25.

The verdict was tossed out in 2011 by an appeals court that blasted the prosecution’s handling of

critical DNA evidence and the case in general.

Opening a new murder trial for Knox raises the possibility that if she is found guilty and the

verdict is upheld by Italy’s Supreme Court, Knox could eventually face a request to extradite her

and put her back in prison.

Knox, 25, now faces years of legal maneuvering and hearings starting when the case is expected

to go back to trial early next year.

In International News…

A potential war may break out on the Korean peninsula—a worst-nightmare scenario for Asia.

With Korea lying at the heart of Northeast Asia, the world’s third largest zone of economic

activity, experts say global capital markets would suffer devastating collateral damage and far

worse, a catastrophic loss of human life and potential nuclear fallout.

Now, North Korea's actions are fueling concern; so much so that South Korea and the U.S.

recently announced they had signed an agreement to firm up contingency plans should North

Korea follow through on its threats.

Analysts fear a limited Northern attack might provoke a Southern response, sparking a spiral of

escalation and the dreaded "big war." With Seoul and Washington bound by treaty, America

would have to commit. "Politically, the U.S. would have to be seen to support South Korea," said

James Hardy, Asia Editor at defense publication IHS Jane's. "If it did not, its defense policy in

Asia-Pacific would be in tatters."

North Korea's 1.1 million strong Korean People's Army, or KPA, is nearly double the size of the

640,000-person South Korean military and the 28,000 U.S. troops stationed in Korea.

Experts can only pray a “Korean War II” never happens.

HONG KONG: An Indian-based advertising agency fired some of its employees responsible for

a Ford ad that featured images of women tied up in the car.

While the drawings were never part of a paid campaign, they still struck a nerve as India

institutes new rules to protect women following a series of high-profile gang rapes.

One of the images depicts Silvio Berlusconi, former prime minister of Italy, driving a Ford Figo

with three tied-up women in the back. Another image depicts Paris Hilton driving a Figo with

what's meant to be the three Kardashian sisters tied up in the back.

"After a thorough internal review, we have taken appropriate disciplinary action with those

involved, which included the exit of employees at JWT," the company said in a statement.

"These were necessary steps owing to the direct accountability of the concerned individuals as

we work to ensure that both the right oversight and processes are strictly enforced so that this

never happens again."

The incident has drawn apologies from all of the involved parties, including Ford.

In the Knicks’ 100-85 win, J.R. Smith and Carmelo Anthony combined for 61 of the 100 points

scored.

Checking in on the 2013 NFL Draft…

Manti Te'o ran his long-awaited 40-yard dashes Tuesday at Notre Dame's pro day and was slightly faster than he was at last month's NFL scouting combine.

ESPN's Todd McShay timed Te'o at 4.75 seconds in his first 40 and 4.71 seconds in his second.

The times represent an improvement upon his 4.82-second 40 at the combine of about one-tenth of a second.

ESPN's Bill Polian, a former general manager and president of three NFL teams, believes that

Te'o is "in the mix" to be a first-round draft pick thanks to the results of Tuesday's workout.

In local baseball news, spring training for the Yankees is coming to an end, with Opening Day

this coming Monday, April 1st.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, Derek Jeter won’t be playing. He begins the season on the

disabled list due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left ankle.

The fans aren’t the only ones upset by the news…

“Of course it’s disappointing,” Jeter said. “I told you guys all along, my goal was to be ready on

Opening Day. And I didn’t reach it.”

Jeter says he is trying to look at the bigger pitcher. He may not be ready for Opening Day, but he

will do everything in his power to be ready for the season.

Celebrity Apprentice’s Omarosa is suing ex-apprentice La Toya Jackson. Why? Over a comment

La Toya made regarding the deceased Michael Clark Duncan.

After La Toya Jackson was fired on the show's March 17 episode, she cracked during her

complimentary cab ride away from Donald Trump's lair that ex-teammate Omarosa had probably

"pulled the plug" on fiancé Michael Clarke Duncan. (The actor died in September, two months

after suffering a major heart attack.)

Omarosa appeared on The Howard Stern Show this morning to talk about the lawsuit.

Howard questioned whether La Toya's comments were actionable or not, but Omarosa said that

they were in this case because the Jackson family sister had "repeated it subsequently" on various

talk shows since shooting Celebrity Apprentice back in October.

"I mean, do you really want people to think that you harmed the person that you loved?"

Omarosa asked, noting that she would be suing for emotional distress, for starters.

Contacted by E! News for comment, La Toya's rep said they had no knowledge of any such

lawsuit.
