    Very Freely (q = c 60)

The first note makes no sound. It simply sets the software in motion.

The first 17 seconds of sound are performer initiated only.

The performer may observe the computer screen if desired in order to aid performance.

Other sounds begin approximately here. Improvise until 2:06.Use mostly very high pitches. Sounds are loud and brash.

Short notes tend to be loud and wild.Held notes begin loudly and the become somewhat muted.

Polyphony is 4, meaning only four notes can sustain at one time

(if four notes are sustaining and a fifth is played, the note that began the furthest in the past will cut out).

    MIDI Channel 9

Improvise until approximately 3:03. Pitch changes affect the relative "high" and "low"timbre of one of the voices. That voice replays with an infinite delay of approximately

7 seconds. Some of the sounds from 3:03 to 3:47 (especially from 3:20) are the resultof repeated iterations of the performer's actions from 2:06 to 3:03.

    3:03

At approximately 3:03, spatialization stops, at which point the instrument must be

switched to MIDI channel 1. Playing any note will move the cursor along the timeline, resulting in renewed spatialization. There are five "stops", the fifth occuring at

    approximately 3:20.

Improvise until approximately 4:20. Play in a manner similar to the

improvisation at 0:17, but include slightly more low pitches if desired.

    4:20MIDI Channel 2 (5:35)

At approximately 4:20, switch the instrument to MIDI channel 2. Improvise until approximately

5:35. Breath controls the tone of the human voice, pitch bend controls its speed.

Tacet from approximately 5:35 to 5:46. Switch the instrument to MIDI channel 5.

    &

    5:46 MIDI Channel 5

Improvise for at least 10 seconds, preferably much longer.

Breath controls the tone of the voice. The movement ends by switching to MIDI channel 1 and playing a note.

The end arrives approximately five seconds afterward.
