Guitarwork Benefit ConCerts

Guitar work charity began with a phone call from Roger Cline and the Homer

Alaska in 2002. Roger recalled my performance in Anchorage where he had been

Superintendent of public schools. Since that time Roger and his wife Dee had retired

to active involvement in the (Homer Alaska) community that was still suffering from

effects of the Valdez oil spill. Roger chose to provide funds for the Coastal Studies

Institute by means of the benefit concert. Since then GuitarWork has provided funds

for the Nairobi orphans, Tsunami victims and Vietnamese schools that are being built

by ex-marines. GuitarWork provided needed equipment for a quadriplegic man to

independently drive his own van.

We recently sponsored Muriel Anderson in Santa Rosa as a benefit for the East Bay

Guitar Society which is incorporating into a non-profit charity.

this weeks Benefits

All the listed concerts in this program are to Benefit the Musicians for Children org a

501c3 organization. Which helps supply music lessons and instruments to children in

communities that have under funded schools and a lack of programs available. As well

as different orphanages around the world. More info on the Musicians for Children

org can be found at www.musiciansforchildren.org

how we do it

All proceeds from the gate go directly to the charity. Musicians provid music and pay

their own travel expense. Musicians reeive 100% of the CD sales. This allows patrons

to support favorite musicians by purchase of favorite music. All your ticket costs go

directly to the charity. All CD revenues go directly to the performer who recorded the

music. We have a great selection of CD’s by past charity performers so take advantage

of the high quality as you support a great community effort.
