For Brad Gray, his first biblical study trip to Israel and Turkey was one of those moments that completely changed the tra- jectory of his life. Understand- ing the Bible in its historical, geographical, linguistic, and cultural contexts unleashed the depth and nuance of the Bible in the most compelling and awe-inspiring of ways. This experience launched him into a lifelong pursuit of seeking to understand the biblical story, and then teach- ing people how to passionately love and live it out! For as the Rab- bis encouraged, “Pore over it again and again, for everything is con- tained in it; look into it, grow old and gray over it, and do not depart from it, for there is no better pursuit for you than this” (m. Avot 5:27). After receiving his Masters of Divinity from Western Theologi- cal Seminary, Brad spent a year studying in Jerusalem at Jerusa- lem University College. He has been leading study trips to Israel and Turkey for the last seven years. In addition to leading biblical study trips, Brad is an author, as well as a national speaker, recently transitioning into this role following ten years of pastoral ministry as a teaching pastor. Brad and his wife, Shallon, have four children.
