Our students looked fabulous in their full school uniform as they sang two songs to a largely unknown audience. Madyson Hamilton thrilled her mother who saw her sing ‘Fix It’ for the first time. They sounded like angels and then they rocked the audience with ‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town.’ Thank you to Miss East, Ms Pfeiffer and Ms McGee for preparing our students, and to our parents for supporting the children as they tour the local area! Presentation Day is a very important day of the year as we recognise the growth in students, the contribution of staff and the success of the school. This year we held our Presentation Day at the Globe Church as Hunter Sports High School Bini is about to be demolished. Our guests and newly named Captains Elect and their families enjoyed morning tea afterwards. Local Schools Local Decisions representatives from the DEC will be in our school on Wednesday afternoon to interview, gather evidence and film staff, students and parents/carers around collaborative strategies leading to growth. This is an accolade for our school as we will be on their website! On Thursday the whole school will attend a special Christmas Lunch supplied by Chuck Duck (Charles Webster). His charity supports our Breakfast Club and this is a wonderful opportunity for all of our children to benefit as in previous years only twenty children would be able to attend this event. We thank Charles for his ongoing support of our children and for his kindness in supporting our community. Charlestown Bowling Club will be awash with neon as the Wiripaang Year 6 students arrive on Thursday night to celebrate their farewell. What an occasion it will be! Thank you to our lovely parents and teachers who have worked collaboratively to bring this event to fruition. Not only will we be sad to clap out our Year 6 next Wednesday, but we will be sad to lose the families who have their youngest child in Year 6. See you and your family at ‘Carols on the Green’…Monday @ 6pm in the Resort playground…it’s going to be fun…Christmas family cheer! Mrs Saurins Principal Our positive affirmation this week is: “I am responsible when representing the school.” This affirmation is about being Responsible. It tells us that we should be respectful and responsible when we are at school events. This means that we are kind and considerate to one another and that we show self-discipline when we are required to sit for a long amount of time. In the last 8 days of school we will be mindful of this at the Scripture Christmas Concert, Presentation Day, Soaring High Days, Chuck Duck Christmas Party and Carols on the Green. There is much celebrating to do, let’s do it with respect. Calendar Events…. Wiri says,

“Let’s learn about . . . Being Safe in the Holidays” This week we are learning about how to be safe during the holidays.

As respectful, responsible, learners we:

• Listen to my parents and carers. • Are respectful of our own and others property. • Always let someone know where we are. • Make safe choices when adults are not around. • Take care of our younger siblings and friends. • Are learning that our actions have consequences. • Are learning to have fun in a safe way. • Are learning that we are in charge of our own decisions.

Just like Wiri says,
