Transcript of Wireless Networking For Your Home
Are you aware of home wireless networking and what it can do for your household? There are many things that the wireless network can do like creating radio connections between and among computers and letting them communicate. You can
also connect the computers to the Internet without the need to connect them physically with wires. These computers do not necessarily require clear signal paths since the wireless
signal passes through the floors and walls easily.
When we say wireless networking at home, we are actually referring to
wireless local area networks (LANs). The local area is your house thus it
will not cover that of your neighbors. You might think that since the
provider will only have to provide an Internet service for your home the service will be expensive. Well, it is
not. It used to be, but with the proliferation of providers that
compete for clients, they are forced to lower the cost of Internet services.
Also, the low cost is due to the mass production wherein there are thousands of wireless networking equipments
manufacturers worldwide. There is always an equipment for a specific budget.
Nevertheless, the total cost of home wireless networking still depends on the number of computers that must be
connected and their distances from one another. Regardless of these though, a household will not spend more than $100
for wireless networking services.
Other people think that home wireless networking is difficult. Perhaps, this is true before when you need to configure each
computer to make the entire network work. Installing wireless networking for any home is a breeze. You simply need to plug
in what needs plugging in. Also, you only have to install a program or configure the primary computer to make the
entire system work and connect to the Internet.
Some other people think that wireless networking at home is insecure. Not
really. Homeowners fear that the confidential data will float in the air for
everyone to access. This is not how wireless networking works. You simply
need to enable encryption for the wireless signals. Afterwards,
intercepting wireless signals will be difficult for the outsiders. Definitely,
decoding the encryption is impossible and difficult to do at that unless your
neighbor is a hacker.
Evidently, wireless technology is a highly adaptable technology, and homes are the first ones to adapt. Since
then, the word about the benefits of wireless networking spread. Nowadays, establishments and businesses are also equipped with wireless networks for both the employees
and consumers.
