Lets be honest, writing film previews without seeing the film is a bit of a bloody guess. So heres my round up of May. The opinions contained in these previews are my own and might be utter bollocks. But in reality we choose to go see a film based on trailers, the odd

poster and word of mouth. So I have done the leg work for you this month and heres a few that I like the look of. Any studio execs reading? Feel free to send Wireless a preview DVD so we can write an accurate preview/ flog it down the pub.

Sacha Baron Cohen returns in the heroic story of a dictator who risks his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed. Yes please!

A clever satirical look at the long strained relationship between Cuba and the United States. A U.S. sponsored Zombie

invasion threatens H a v a n a and its up to a Latin version of Simon Pegg

( J u an) to stop it. The f i l m successfully mocks the politics of both the Castro regime and the U.S. simultaneously. If you have never read a History book its a funny Zomcom, for the rest of you its a bloody clever funny Zomcom.

Mel Gibson takes a break from his drunken disorderly anti-semitic rants to return to his bread and butter. A bit like Falling down takes a field trip to Mexico. Expect Sombreros, grenades and police chases. Fans of Payback and Lethal Weapon will be in for a treat. Fans of the Passion and Apocalypto can expect... oh hang on, this applies to no one. Gibson back to his best

as a zany violent lunatic. Come to think of it, in all his good films he plays a zany violent lunatic. Does this count as acting?

Welsh Director Gareth Evans returns to the martial arts genre with what is tipped to be the action film of the year. Theres a very simple premise, 20 elite Indonesian SWAT cops must take down a

mobster boss. To do this the cops must fight their way floor by floor up a heavily defended 30 floor tenement block. Recon they will all make it out alive for Buds and Buffalo wings? No nonsense, just action, if youre a fan of the genre you do not want to miss this one.

    Rumours of Fleetwood Mac

9th May @ The Lowry,Salford Avenue Q is probably themost unlikely musicals to becomeone of the longest running inBroadway history. The show starsa cast of muppets and featuresclassic numbers such as 'What doyou do with a BA in English?' and 'Everyone's alittle bit racist'.

10th May @ The Albert Halls, Bolton The Canadian observational comic approaches theidiosyncrasies of British life from an outsider'sperspective. Splendid.

14th May @ The Lowry, Salford With a unique ability to fuck with people's minds,Mr Brown insists that he has no paranormalabilities but that just makes him a liar as well as awarlock.

28th May @The Lowry A rather unimaginatively named Fleetwood Mactribute act. Thats it really.
