Managing wireless IP cameras that communicate through P2P networking and Wi-Fi is getting simpler as many new units are becoming compatible with a wide range of personal electronics.

Viewing and accessing the IP cameras are done by scanning a QR code or a serial number via Android phones, iPhones, PCs and wearables. Camera movement and pan, tilt and zoom angles can also be controlled and adjusted remotely. Devices capable of giving off alarms send reports and alerts to users' e-mail addresses.

Some cameras store data in the cloud or have an online portal where users can check captured images and videos.
