DescriptionType ABZ is a new, compact, low cost, low power wide area network (LPWAN) wireless module that supports the LoRaWAN long range wireless protocol. DescriptionThe ISL29501 is a Time of Flight (ToF) based signal processing integrated circuit. The sensor enables low cost, low power, and long range optical distance sensing when combined with an external emitter and detector. The ISL29501 has a built-in current DAC circuit that drives an external LED or laser. The modulated light from the emitter is reflected off the target and is received by the photodiode. The photodiode then converts the returned signal into current, which is used by the ISL29501 for signal processing.

The Honeywell HPM Series Particle Sensor is a laser-based sensor which uses

the light scattering method to detect and count particles in the concentration

range of 0 μg/m3 to 1,000 μg/m3 in a given environment. A laser light source

illuminates a particle as it is pulled through the detection chamber. As particles

pass through the laser beam, the light source becomes obscured and is

recorded on the photo or light detector. The light is then analyzed and converted

to an electrical signal providing particulate size and quantity to calculate

DescriptionThe STTS751 is a digital temperature sensor which communicates over a 2-wire SMBus 2.0 compatible bus. The temperature is measured with a user-configurable resolution between 9 and 12 bits. At 9 bits, the smallest step size is 0.5°C, and at 12 bits, it is 0.0625°C. At the default resolution (10 bits, 0.25°C/LSB), the conversion time is nominally 21 milliseconds.

DescriptionNTC Thermistors are manufactured from sintered metal oxides. Each thermistor consists of a combination of two to four of the following materials: Manganese, Nickel, Cobalt and Copper. NTC thermistors are semiconductor resistors that exhibit decreasing resistance characteristics with increasing temperature. TDK thermistors have low thermal time constants which result in extremely high rates of resistance change to accurately track the temperature.

DescriptionPTC thermistors are ceramic components whose electrical resistance rapidly increases when a certain temperature is exceeded. This feature makes them ideal for use in countless applications of modern electrical and electronic engineering, for example as resettable fuses against current overload or as short-circuit protection in motors.

DescriptionNTC thermistors are elements whose resistance falls with an increase in temperature, and find use in applications such as temperature sensing. Murata NTC thermistors employ elements featuring high precision and good thermal response. The diverse product range not only includes different shapes (SMD chip and lead types), but also covers diverse applications such as inrush current suppression and temperature compensation.

The NCP series offers chip type temperature sensors ideal for temperature sensing and compensation. Available in sizes from 0603 to 2012 mm, NCP sensors are widely used in mobile phones, PCs, and LED lighting equipment.

The NCU series of Murata thermistors are a chip type temperature sensor aimed at the automotive market where high reliability is needed. NCU series can be used for wide temperature sensing and compensation.

The NXF series of lead NTC thermistors offers temperature sensors featuring one of the industry’s smallest sensor heads, allowing for compact size and fast response. The flexible leads are available in lengths from 25 to 150 mm. Murata’s outstanding ceramic technology enables these NTC thermistors to meet various customer requirements for characteristics.

The NXR series of self-standing lead NTC thermistors feature high lead strength. Designed for use in room-temperature sensors, these thermistors based on NTC chips can detect temperatures with high sensitivity and precision. Murata’s unique technology for attaching lead wires achieves high lead strength in the NXR thermistors, allowing the customer to bend them for production of equipment. NXR series products can be supplied in taped formats

The PRF series chip PTC thermistors are used for overheat sensing in FETs, power ICs, and other heat generating areas. Use of the sharp change in electrical resistance translates into outstanding noise resistance. Sharp changes in resistance make it possible to accurately detect overheating in multiple areas using a very simple circuit connecting PTC thermistors in series.

DescriptionThe LPS22HB is an ultra-compact piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor which functions as a digital output barometer. The device comprises a sensing element and an IC interface which communicates through I2C or SPI from the sensing ele-ment to the application. The sensing element, which detects absolute pressure, consists of a suspended membrane manufactured using a dedicated process developed by ST. Sensors Thermal Array (MEMS)

DescriptionThe AMG88xx series of Grid-EYE sensors from Panasonic feature 64 thermopile elements in an 8x8 grid array that can detect absolute temperatures by infrared radiation. The Grid-EYE range has recently been expanded to include a new high performance type, standard parts have a human detection distance up to 5 meters whilst the new higher performance types have an increased human detection distance of up to 7 meters.

Grid-EYE is able to measure actual temperature and temperature gradients effectively providing a thermal image of the area being monitored. This allows the sensor to easily detect multiple persons and identify their positions and direction of movement, this can be done almost independent of ambient lighting conditions and without disturbing privacy as with conventional cameras.

The sensor structure is very suitable for human detection, even for objects in stationary position. PIR structure finds limits in static detection.
