The Cat 261-3363 Wireless Communication Adapter Gp allows you to monitor a product's electronic control module (ECM) with Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET) through radio frequency communication. The wireless communication adapter group also allows you to program the ECM by radio.
The wireless communication adapter group eliminates the need for a hard cable connection between the product's ECM and your personal computer that runs Cat ET. You now have the ability to work from a desk or your service vehicle. The wireless communication adapter group communicates up to 150 m (500 ft) with the standard antenna. An optional antenna extends the range up to 245 m (800 ft).
The working group consists of the following items: a Data Link cable, the communication adapter, a PCMCIA radio card and a software CD-ROM. A foam lined carrying case is included.
The wireless communication adapter group is easy to install. You simply connect one end of the cable to the plug for the ECM. Then, you plug the other end of the cable into the communication adapter. The communication adapter has four magnetic feet. You mount the unit as high on the machine as the communication adapter can be mounted. Then, you insert the PCMCIA card in the slot on the PC, select the PCMCIA card profile, and start Cat ET.
The following chart provides the specifications for the wireless communication adapter group:
