Panama Ideas

Due to the way Panama's laid out, and the way the towns are distributed, there's no really convenient home base from which to explore all of Panama. I'd suggest several:

Panama City, from which you can explore the Atlantic side, the city itself, the canal, etc.,

El Valle de Anton, where you can experience the volcanic crater town and visit the beach communities of San Carlos, Coronado, etc.,

Penonome, then to Santa Fe up in the hills and down to the Azuero Peninsula towns of Chitre, Pedasi, Las Tablas . David, which is 45 minutes from the beaches or less than an hour from Boquete, Volcan, Cerro Punta, and a several hour drive over the mountains to Bocas Del Toro. Boquete is probably the more central location for this area for a home base.
