DOES YOUR GRANDAD LOOK LIKE WINSTON CHURCHILL COMPETITION CONCEPT 1 ‘DOES YOUR GRANDAD LOOK LIKE WINSTON CHURCHILL?’ - This competition is aimed specifi- cally at school children between the ages of 11-18. The idea behind the concept is to inform the audience about Winston Churchill while also relating his face to someone they personally know very closely... Their Grandad. However, obviously not everyones Grandad looks like Winston Churchill, but the promotion for the competition would encourage the younger audience to ask their Grandparents / Parents about Churchill. The product range we have proposed is aimed to encourage a teenage audience to get involved, by using a range of both printed and digital media we aim to reach as large an audience as possible. These boards aim to explain our concept further as well as the prod- ucts that could be produced to aid a successful response from the required audience.

To make sure everyone has a chance of entering we have included a postal address aswell as a link to the website and the app.

A promotional poster/leaflet would be sent out to schools across the UK. This introduces them to the competition and how the different ways they can enter.

We have included some nets on the back which allows the kids to cut out and make a 3D Winston Churchill.

In order to promote the competetion and to get winstons face out there we suggest a series of large scale public adverts that will catch the eye of passers by. It would be best to situate the adverts in busy city centers and round schools & colleges in order to hit the specific target audience.

Bill boards in busy towns and on bus and train roots would be good places to advertise as school kids are forced to look at these everyday.

WINSTON CHURCHILL COMPETITIONPUBLIC PROMOTION

A good way to cause interest with a younger audience would be to use graffiti advertising. This is a ever growing trend that seems to be getting more popular each year.

This type of stencilgraffiti can be put up in no time. its a quick and easy advertising method which allows for many possibilities.

The idea behind the slogan below is to get the kids to bond with their grandparents. Most kids have a strong bond with them anyway, so if they don’t know who Winston was, their grandad will be sure to fill them in.

Using projections to advertise, instantly causes interest as it is quite an exciting new medium to work with. This could play a clip that runs through a series of different advertisements about the competition, also people about Churchill.
