THE FOREST SCHOOL PRINCIPLES
The Forest School ethos has six principles, which were agreed by the UK Forest School community in 2011. The full six guiding prin-ciples of Forest School can be found on our website.
Principle 1 states:Forest School is a long-term process of frequent or regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Planning, adaptation, observations and reviewing are integral elements of Forest School.
With these principles as best practice guidance we suggest a minimum of 6 planned Forest School sessions. A Forest School Leader will arrange an initial consultation where we can discuss your individual/group’s need and go over The Forest School Experience Handbook.
