Principal’s Note
Term 4 is a 9 week term so we shall be very busy. Please ensure that your children attend everyday as we have a
great deal of work to complete.
Thank you to all of the Windorah State School staff and to the P & C who ensured that the Barcoo Sports Day was a great success. Congratulations to Longreach School of Distance Education students, winners of the Barcoo Shield for 2019. Well done to all students who participated with sportsmanship.

development day on Saturday 19th October. Sheena Cameron will be presenting “Teaching Reading Comprehension Strategies”.
Mrs Hughes will be at the Principal’s Business meeting in Longreach on the 21st and 22nd October. The 21st is a Pupil Free Day and Miss Helen will be at school on the 22nd October.
Andy Paterson will be at school on these two days trimming and removing the dead trees in the school grounds.
Ashley’s Plumbing was at school last week investigating the irrigation system. He reported that the left side of the school grounds is fixable if we utilise one of the tanks, purchase a stronger pump and new headers for the pop up sprinklers. So hopefully, we will have this sorted before the end of the school year.
We will have Miss Jessica Aylett visiting us from Brisbane in Weeks 4, 5, 6 and 7. Jessica is a third year student teacher at the Catholic University in Brisbane. Thank you to the Barcoo Shire Council who has helped to make this possible by providing a council flat for accommodation.
Mrs Hughes will be in Brisbane in Week 4 working with the C2C Curriculum team on the small schools multi-age curriculum and participating in the Principal’s Engagement Strategy. Miss Jenni Lund from Alpha State School will be the Aspiring Principal who is replacing her.
