Wind Flags for Airgun shooting by Mercury

Having made a Wind Wheel by Jabawok I wanted to add a Wind Flag using bits that I had on hand

This one I found on one of the UK airgun forums.

You need some balsa wood or Correx or light rigid plastic sheet for the flag which is 150mm along the

top and 50mm wide. the bottom taper starts at 50mm from the rear end.

A piece of copper or brass hobby tubing 1/8 or 3.18mm in diam.50mm in length .To make a stop I placed

some thick copper wire 25mm long inside the tubing and pinched and soldered it.

A piece of brass brazing rod to fit inside the brass /copper tubing about 50 mm long and also about

250mm of wood dowel for the mast.

The top 25mm of brass tubing is super glued or epoxied to the flag at the mid point , leaving 25mm for

    the shaft.

Drill a 2mm hole in the wood and the brazing rod can be glued in about 15mm. The top of the brazing

rod can be filed to a point and the flag slid over until it hits the stop inside the brass tubing.

Make a hole for your streamer at the rear bottom corner and paint in two bright colours ie one side

green other side orange. You may have to add some weight to the front of the flag to balance it out.
