Notes:

Two kinds of bolts are available for clip component of two E9230s on one pole:

80 mm and 120 mm long, which should be selected according to the diameter of the pole.

It is recommended to use a pole with a diameter ranging from 60 mm to 120 mm.

For the pole whose diameter ranges from 60 mm to 90 mm, the 80 mm long bolt should be used.

For the pole whose diameter ranges from 90 mm to 120 mm, the 120 mm long bolt should be used.

E9230 Cable Installation

Water-proof Treasure for Unused Sockets on the bottom of E9230 Cabinet

After cable installation, the unused sockets on the bottom of E9230 cabinet should also be

sealed by the way of “1+3+3”. Please follow the operations as below:

①Tighten the protection cover on the socket firstly;

②Start wrapping from the bottom of the protection cover. The horizontal wrapping direction

should be the same as the screw direction, and the vertical direction should face the socket

direction from the socket below;

③Fix the tapes with the black cable tie at the base of the socket.

Installation Acceptance

Cables

1 Any cable is forbidden to be coiled and should be tied in the wiring channel and be placed casually.

2 All cables should be laid straightly, and they should not intertwine with each other or hang in the air.

3 The radio cables (microwave cables, antenna feeders, main antenna feeders, GPS feeders and so on)

are prohibited to be lied at an angle of 90 degree.

4 The cable ties are bound orderly, with proper tightness. The interval between cable ties is no more than

0.5 m and all ties face the same direction.

5 In the room, after a cable tie is bound, the extra part is cut completely smoothly, without any spur.

6 Outside the room, after a cable tie is bound, 1~2 mm surplus is reserved and the cable is cut smoothly

without any spur.

7 Labels with correct contents are attached at both ends of a cable. The labels face right after

attachment.

8 The VSWR test should be done before the waterproof measures are taken to the feeders. Besides, the

feeders should be marked.

9 The used and unused connectors at the bottom of E9230 cabinet should be sealed in the way of “1

layer of insulation tape + 3 layers of waterproof tape + 3 layers of ultraviolet tape”.

10

As for the outdoor DC shielded power cable or the RF feeder, If it is shorter than 5 m, the shielded layer

of the power cable or the RF feeder should be grounded at one point; if it is between 5 m and 20 m, the

shielded layer should be grounded at two points; if it is longer than 20 m, the shielded layer should be

grounded at three points: the point where it leaves the iron tower platform, the point where it

approaches the outdoor cable tray and the point 1 m from the equipment room. If the cable length on

the iron tower exceeds 60 m, a grounding point should be added every 20 m. The grounding cable

should be laid downward as the feeder (equipment room direction) and its inclination angle with the

feeder should not exceed 15°.

Note: The grounding clip is used when the cable is grounded!

E9230 Cabinet

1 The main pole should be vertical, with an error less than 2°.

2 The interface between the jumper and E9230 cabinet is screwed up with a torque spanner of 1.7 Nm ~2 Nm;

The interface between the GPS feeder and E9230 cabinet is screwed up with a torque spanner of 1Nm.

3 The jumper is correctly connected to the connection terminal at the bottom of the cabinet.

4 The pole for equipment (except antenna) installation should be placed in the roof or within the fence of iron

tower.

5 All installation assembly should be firmly fixed, resisting the hurricane or meeting other specific

requirements. It is recommended to use poles of 4 ~ 6mm depth and with a diameter of 60mm ~ 120mm.

6 The cabinet must be reliably grounded and installed within 45° protection range of a lightning rod.
