Our newest board members –Heath Kearney and Cynthia Bilyj will introduce themselves below, but I’d like to take the opportunity to thank them for their volunteerism and service. They are a great addition to the team! Returning board members Earl, Jessica, and especially Bob and Rebecca remain on duty to serve our community. Rebecca and Bob are now entering their 8th consecutive year of service to our community and I can’t say enough about how grateful we are for their unwavering support!

2019 will be a year of continuing improvement, building on the incredible efforts of our previous boards. A sample of key areas where we will be focusing our efforts:

Hello Willow Oaks Families! My name is Heath Kearney and I will be serving as your Vice President on the Willow Oaks Recreation Association Board. It is a pleasure to serve you all and I look forward to getting to you. My wife Kristina and three Daughters Madison, Megan and Morgan recently moved into the neighborhood back in July 2018. of the Willow Oaks Pool and Swim Team we know how special Willow Oaks is and its residents.

A little about myself, I am 41 years young and I have been a lifelong resident of Hampton growing up in Phoebus and attending College at Christopher Newport University. For the past 18 years I’ve worked in the Commercial HVAC Field and am currently employed at Chesapeake Controls Inc. as an Application Engineer which specializes in HVAC Commercial Build Automation Controls. I like spending time with my girls on the beach in the Outer Banks, NC. Hobbies include Home Improvement Projects, Landscaping and Entertaining!

Iamexcitedtoreturntotheboardas secretary to fill the vacated position of Jo Behan, after her term ended. As secretary, I will be working closely with all areas of the board to help maintain records for the years to come and

keep us up to speed on what is going on throughout the neighborhood through surveys and the newsletters. I also will be assisting at the pool as much as possible (with my soon to be three little ones in tow), as it has become near and dear to my heart and is such an amazing asset for our community. Hello Willow Oaks! My name is Rebecca Francese and I am serving as Membership Chairman thisyear.Iamexcitedaboutthisposition because I get to share with you, all of the wonderful things that Willow Oaks provides

for our community! As a quick reminder, the Board and neighborhood volunteers organize our annual Food Drive, Easter Egg Hunt, Neighborhood Watch, Community Yard Sale, Memorial Celebration, Teen Party, Dog Day at the Pool, Halloween Festivities, Dogs and S’mores and so much more! We also provide a state-of-the-art website (www.willowoaks.org) that details information about Willow Oaks including our neighborhood history, covenants and recreational pool. The Board works diligently to keep our residents informed of important events throughout the neighborhood and our wonderful city.

We need your help to continue providing all these great community services and making Willow Oaks such a wonderful place to live. Your participation helps fund all theactivitieslistedabove,aswellasourinsurance,taxes,grounds maintenance and gives you a voice at the Annual Meeting. Please consider paying your dues today.

Sunday, April 14th • 1:00 pmThe Willow Oaks Pool

The Easter Egg Hunt is for children 12 years old and younger. They will be separated into three age groups. Each age group will have an opportunity to find a “golden egg” and win a special prize. Cupcakes and water will be served after the hunt. Bring a basket so your children can collect eggs.

Chelsea Souder is the coordinator of this event. If you would like to volunteer, or need to register your children, please contact her at [email protected] or (757) 754-1901.

Donations of bite size, individually wrapped candy are welcomed please avoid

chocolate due to melting.

Register by April 30th and Save $25 early Bird Pool Membership. Our facility has two pools for our members to enjoy. The main pool has lap lanes and a diving board and the toddler pool is where our youngest members can play. Members can enjoy social time on the large deck space around the pool and barbecue area.

Children all grown up? Well, what about a pool membership for when the grandchildren

visit? It’s back – The Grandparent Pool Membership Plan.

There is also a reduced rate for Single Adults who would like to join. Go to willowoaks.org under the MeMBeRSHiP tab for all the details, the

membership application or to pay online.

The Willow Oaks Stingrays is our summer recreation swim team. It is a great opportunity for our young

pool members to participate in a fun activity that requires dedication and team spirit. To

2019SeASON!

Pool and Neighborhood Tid BitsPool Rentals For those interested in renting the pool for an after-hours party or renting one of our very popular shelters during pool hours, once the pool opens, contact a manager and check the calendar to make sure there isn’t a conflict. Remember, as long as you are a Willow Oaks resident who has paid your basic membership dues of $60, you can rent the pool for an after-hours party. You do not need to be a pool member. However, you must be a pool member to rent a shelter during pool hours. Forms will be at the pool and available online beginning in February, at www.willowoaks.org.

Street SweepingStreet sweeping occurs the first Tuesday of each month. So that the sweeper operator

can sweep all the way to the curb, please make sure that your garbage can, recycling bin, any vehicles, basketball goals, bulk trash, bags of

leaves, or other items are not in the street.

captains, and so much more. We truly appreciate everything you have done for the neighborhood.

We currently need someone to fill this very important neighborhood position. Duties include keeping in touch with our current block captains, filling vacant positions, staying in contact with our representatives at the Hampton Police Division and reporting any relevant news or tips to keep our neighbors safe.
