Welcome to our 2013 Catalogue.

Accoutrement has been selling top quality cookware since 1970 in Mosman.

The cooking school was established in 1980 and I have personally managed the school

since 1982. During those years, many wonderful chefs have taught at Accoutrement.

Damien Pignolet was one of the first chefs to give a demonstration class and still

continues to do so.

The shop has been divided into five sections.

The Epicurian Store is well stocked with a large range of oils, pastas, chutneys,

coffee, handmade chocolate and other gourmet ingredients, many from boutique

suppliers. We endeavour to ensure that all products sold at Accoutrement are of the

highest standard.

Ceramics and Glassware features an extensive range of Pillivuyt, Limoges and Riedel.

We have an impressive stock of Alessi, Stelton and Mud products. We also offer Copper

cookware as well as the highly prized Spring stainless steel saucepans. We have an

extensive range of Murchison & Hume, eco-friendly cleaning products.

Knives – Shun, Sabatier and Wusthof Trident – all supreme quality knives.

Cookware – SKK non stick frypans, cast iron Le Creuset, Staub and Lodge. We have a large

range of cake tins for all your baking needs and every imaginable gadget.

The Cooking School is where we hold our classes throughout the year. We also have a

bookshelf brimming with the latest cookbooks.

Over the last few years we have been taking groups on cooking tours to beautiful and

exotic places and always accompanied with a well-known chef.

It is not known when the hibachi was first used in Japan. However, written records suggest that it was in use by the

Heian period (798-1185 AD). Owing to the low availability of metal in Japan, early hibachis were made from dug-out cypress wood lined with clay. However, craftsmen soon began to make

more decorative versions with lacquered finishes, gold leaf, and other artistic embellishments. Stronger materials such as metal and ceramics became popular over time. Traditional hibachis

can be very attractive objects in themselves and are today sometimes sold as antiques. They were originally used mainly

by the samurai classes and aristocrats but gradually spread among the general population. This is the perfect barbecue for
