WILDLIFE
Wildlife abounds within the campground/park and
the adjoining Sebastian River. The early evening
hiker on the nature trail may see a shy fox, bobcat,
or wild turkeys. During the day when it warms up
you may be lucky enough to see a Gopher Tortoise
out grazing. Perhaps you may hear the cry of an
Osprey or one of several species of owls that we
have here at dusk. Other wildlife may be seen in the
Sebastian River such as Manatee and playful
Porpoises.
There have been sightings of alligators from our
observation boardwalk as well. While we hope you
are able to observe some of the amazing creatures
we have during your visit, please be aware that
there is absolutely no feeding or contact of any kind
with wildlife. This is for your safety as well as that
of the animals. Feeding of alligators is also a
violation of state law.
