Invitation from the ACEN President

Work Integrated learning (WIL) is pivotal to increasing student employability and ensuring tertiary graduates make productive transitions into the Australian workplace. Consequently, there has been an increased national focus on WIL and the development of the National WIL Strategy by key industry groups, Universities Australia and ACEN. Enhancing WIL practice across the country is therefore critical to progressing this important national agenda.

The 6th National ACEN Conference, 28-30 September 2016 at Macquarie University, Sydney provides an opportunity under the theme of ‘WIL : Pushing the Boundaries 2020’ for delegates to continue to build their knowledge base and capacity to implement innovative practice in work integrated learning.

Due to the quality of the diverse and interesting program, the ACEN National conference continues to build its national and international credibility. Over 250 delegates including academics, professional staff, researchers, industry, government agencies, community groups and leaders in work integrated learning from right across Australia, South East Asia and beyond will attend.

On behalf of the ACEN Board and Conference Organising Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in this world leading WIL conference. Involvement as sponsor will offer your organisation lasting benefits beyond the close of the event.

Judie Kay, President

ACEN Conference Series OverviewThe conference will draw an estimated 200 participants from the Australasian network of higher education and research institutions. Its scope and significance will make attendance essential for all who have an interest in WIL in tertiary institutions and the research sector.

The conference is designed to provide a range of experience and styles of presentations, including keynote speaker presentations, formal papers and case study presentations on current developments and recent experiences. A Research Symposium and Pre-Conference Workshops will be held on Wednesday 28 September. The conference also includes a Welcome Reception, Conference Dinner and networking opportunities over lunch.

All abstracts and papers submitted to ACEN are peer reviewed for relevance, quality and originality by our expert program committee.

The conference focus will be on providing current information, exchanging experience and generally creating opportunities for discussion, debate and networking.

Sponsor and Exhibitor Opportunities The conference organisers invite government agencies, the corporate sector, medium and small enterprises, training and educational institutions to participate in this event.

Sponsorship will:

• Provide your organisation with an excellent opportunity to promote to a valuable target audience of WIL professionals before, during and after the conference;

• Showcase your products and programs relevant to WIL practitioners throughout the duration of the conference;

• Provide exposure to a national and international audience of up to 200 delegates;

• Enhance your public relations through networking activities and conference exposure;

• Ensure that your involvement, commitment and support are openly demonstrated and widely acknowledged;

• Be seen as a non-intrusive, generous and supportive gesture whilst having excellent exposure and business opportunities;

• Provide your organisation with exposure to the latest thinking and practice on issues relating to Work Integrated Learning; and

• Allow your staff to participate in conference activities.

Detailed herewith is a range of sponsorship and exhibition packages to help organisations take part in the conference.

The conference committee looks forward to the opportunity of working with you at the premier event on the WIL calendar for Australasian Universities and Tertiary Institutions.
