Liberal feminism is an individualistic form of feminist theory, which focuses on women’s ability to maintain their equality through their own actions and choices. Liberal feminists argue that society holds the false belief that women are, by nature, less intellectually and physically capable than men; thus it tends to discriminate against women in the academy, the forum, and the marketplace. Liberal fem-inists believe that “female subordination is rooted in a set of customary and legal constraints that blocks women’s entrance to and success in the so-called public world”. They strive for sexual equality via down to earth political and legal reform. In the United States, liberal fem-inism was quiet for four decades after winning the vote in 1920. In the 1960s during the civil rights movement, liberal feminists drew paral-lels between systemic race discrimination and sex discrimination. Groups such as the National Organization for Women, the National Wom-en’s Political Caucus, and the Women’s Equity Action League were all created at that time.

Third-wave feminism is a term identified with several diverse strains of feminist activity and study, whose exact boundaries in the history of feminism are a subject of debate, but are gen-erally marked as beginning in the early 1990s and continuing to the present. The move-ment arose partially as a response to the per-ceived failures of and backlash against initia-tives and movements created by second-wave feminism during the 1960s, ‘70s, and ‘80s, and the perception that women are of “many colors, ethnicities, nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds”. Rebecca Walker coined the term “third-wave feminism” in a 1992 essay. It has been proposed that Walker has become somewhat of a symbol of the third waves focus on queer and non-white women.

A crop top (also cropped top, belly shirt, half shirt, midriff shirt, midriff top, tummy top, short shirt, and cutoff shirt) is a T-shirt or blouse with the lower part cut off, showing off some of the abdomen. The belly shirt (or half shirt) is a kind of shirt that is cut off from the bottom of the chest. During the mid-1980s, pop star Madonna caused a controversy when she gyrated in a mesh crop top in her video for the song “Lucky Star.” Also during this de-cade, cutoff crop tops became a popular fash-ion item thanks to the aerobic craze and pop-ularity of the movie Flash-dance. It became common for girls to crop off sections of their workout wear, such as sleeves, collars, and the hem of the shirt to create a loose-fitting top which was often worn over a body suit or tank top. Crop tops were also often paired with low-slung belts in the 1980s, angled at the side of the hip. As mesh fabrics and over-sized aerobics gear went out of fashion by the 1990s, the crop top reappeared in the form of the bustier, a lingerie-styled shirt which re-vealed the midriff and was typically worn under a blazer or shirt.

A polo neck, roll-neck (UK) or turtle-neck (US, Canada) or skivvy (Austra-lia, New Zealand) is a garment—usu-ally a sweater—with a close-fitting, round, and high collar that folds over and covers the neck. It can also refer to type of neckline, the style of col-lar itself, or be used as an adjective (“polo necked”). A simpler variant of the standard polo neck is the mock polo neck (or mock turtleneck), that resembles the polo neck with the soft fold at its top and the way it stands up around the neck, but both ends of the tube forming the collar are sewn to the neckline. This is mainly used to achieve the appearance of a polo neck where the fabric would fray, roll, or otherwise behave badly unless sewn.

A dojo is a Japanese term which literally means “place of the way”. Initially, dojo’s were adjunct to temples. The term can refer to a formal training place for any of the Japanese do arts[which?] but typically it is considered the formal gathering place for students of any Japanese martial arts style such as karate, judo, or samurai, to conduct training, examinations and other related encounters. The concept of a only referring to a training place specifically for Asian martial arts is a Western concept; in Japan, any physical training facility, including professional wrestling schools, may be called dojo because of its close martial arts roots.

Armour or armor is a protective covering that is used to prevent damage from being inflicted to an object, individual, or vehicle by direct contact weapons or projectiles, usually during combat, or from damage caused by a potentially dangerous environment or action (e.g., cycling, construction sites, etc.). Personal armour is used to protect sol-diers and war animals such as war horses (the application for the latter is called barding). Vehi-cle armour is used on warships and armoured fighting vehicles.

Dragon Skin is a type of ballistic vest made by Pin-nacle Armor. It is currently produced in Fresno, California. Its characteristic two-inch-wide circu-lar discs overlap like scale armor, creating a flex-ible vest that allows a good range of motion and is intended to absorb a high number of hits com-pared with other military body armor. The discs are composed of silicon carbide ceramic matrices and laminates, much like the larger ceramic plates in other types of bullet resistant vests.
