WIENERSCHNITZEL’S
HOT DOGS FOR
HOMELESS TOURApril 2015
J.R. Galardi, of Wienerschnitzel,
and Mike Smith, Founder of Skate For Change,
have collaborated their philanthropic passions to create
Wienerschnitzel’s Hot Dogs for Homeless Tour:
A month-long philanthropic adventure to help those in need.
The Mission
While traveling the country in a Wienerschnitzel-wrapped RV, the tour
will hit 18 U.S. cities throughout April 2015, visiting shelters and
communities with heavy homeless populations. The crew will serve
Wienerschnitzel hot dogs and provide socks, hats, warm clothes,
hygiene kits, and other necessities to those who need it most.

Wienerschnitzel The World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain
When our fans are craving a Chili Dog, they think Wienerschnitzel! Founded in 1961 by
John Galardi with a single location in Southern California, Wienerschnitzel has grown to be
the world’s largest hot dog chain serving more than 120 million hot dogs a year; and we’re
über famous for our delicious secret-recipe chili that we like to smother on fries, hot dogs
and burgers. Plus, you can’t forget about our Tastee Freez soft serve treats to round out an
epic meal.
Nobody should have to live without Wienerschnitzel, so you’re going to be seeing a lot more
of us popping up all over the country. But, we’re more than the best chili dogs and corn dogs
in the world. We have a responsibility to the people and the communities who have
supported us for the past 50+ years, and we’re passionate about sharing our successes to help
make a difference in the world.
We’re a family-owned company and we’re going to keep it that way. We know that
Wienerschnitzel holds a special place in the hearts of our fans, many who’ve grown up with
us, and we’re committed to serving up craveable food at a great value for many generations
to come.
About J.R. GalardiJ.R. Galardi’s involvement with Wienerschnitzel began on the day he was born. As the son
of company founder, John Galardi, J.R. is dedicated to continuing the family legacy and
expanding the fan base to younger generations.
Proud to follow in his father’s footsteps and build upon the solid foundation established
over the past five decades, J.R. developed the Visionary Department, a forward-looking
marketing division dedicated to capturing tomorrow’s consumer. With a heavy emphasis
on corporate responsibility, the division will tap into current trends, interests and lifestyles,
including everything from sports, film, technology, music and fashion.
Passionate about sharing company successes to
help make a difference in the world, J.R. is
committed to making charitable giving a priority.
Under his direction, Wienerschnitzel is activating
new partnerships and interactive for-cause events
across the country.
About Mike Smith
Most professional speakers talk about what they’ve done or what they’ve been through -
Mike Smith talks about what he’s doing NOW. Mike Smith is a motivational speaker and
action sports personality who has worked with youth for more than a decade. In the last
three years alone, Mike has spoken at over 400 schools, state conferences, and universities,
reaching an estimated 1,000,000 students across North America and Canada. Through his
speaking, Mike has made it his mission to inspire young people to create positive change
both in and outside of their schools by encouraging them to be mindful of the legacy they
can leave behind.
Mike also serves as the Founder of globally recognized
non-profit Skate For Change (SFC), an organization
that empowers young skateboarders to help the
homeless in their communities. SFC chapters have
now spread to major cities across the U.S. and
countries worldwide.
Whether it’s motivating students to pursue greatness;
teaching them how to start and maintain charitable
organizations; or giving back to the less fortunate;
Mike is committed to inspiring others to be
extraordinary.
In addition to providing much-needed support to the homeless, the tour
will stop at high schools along the way to assist with Mike Smith’s
motivational speaking engagements. The Hot Dogs for the Homeless crew
will participate on panels to communicate the importance of higher
education as well as supporting worthy causes and making a difference in
their own communities.
