“It is a great profession. There is the fascination of watching a figment of the imagination emerges through the aid of science to plan on paper. Then it moves to realization in stone or metal or energy. Then it brings jobs and homes to men. Then it elevates the standards of living and adds to the comfort of life. That is the engineer’s high privilege… To the engineer falls the job of clothing the bare bones of science with life, comfort and hope.”
Herbert Hoover, 31st President of the United States.

The WIC - EQUINET Alliance is able to
deploy highly-skilled workers, technicians,
architects and engineers to project sites
worldwide in support of construction
activities. Our crews have supported
clients on-site in Afghanistan, Bosnia,
Djibouti, Hong Kong, Indonesia,
Macedonia, Pakistan, Philippines, and the
United Arab Emirates. Our workers are
multi-skilled with experience in at least
two trades. We deploy our own staff as
team leaders or superintendents whenever
we dispatch a group(s) of workers to
project sites, thus ensuring competent
supervision and a high level of work
performance. Management monitors the
progress and work efficiency on a regular
basis.
We provide Quality Control Engineers for
all disciplines. Our technical personnel are
well trained in US and international
quality standards. Staff deployed overseas
can seek the help of experts from our
home offices for research, advice or
support on engineering and construction
thus enhancing on-site capabilities. Our
team of Quality Control Engineers have
supported clients in the field on complex
projects such as US Embassies and
Consulates in Indonesia, Pakistan and the

Experienced members of the WIC Team are available to form
dedicated teams for multiple and concurrent projects. We
execute the Design/Build project delivery method with strong
emphasis on designers working side by side with constructors to
develop strategies for quality and cost effective projects. This
approach allows us to develop design packages that minimize
design schedules and focus on early acquisition of materials and
systems that are particularly volatile in cost or have long lead
times. These types of activities in close coordination with input
from the field construction managers are what constitutes true
Design/Build and are necessary for the project delivery method
to boost the added value to our Clients.
For those occasions when the contractor is not engaged by the
client during the pre-construction phase, WIC can deliver
turnkey construction to the exact specifications and requirements
of the client including but not limited to the following:

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
ur ability to manage each project successfully is rooted
in our most valued asset—our employees. They carry
out our policies in every facet of company business.
They manage and supervise how the work is executed, utilize
local and small businesses, control costs, develop and monitor
schedules, and administer the financial aspects of each project.
Our staff is responsible for coordinating and directing the daily
project activities, while drawing on the home offices of WIC and
our allied companies for additional support in self-performed
construction trades, subcontracting, estimating, construction
engineering, project controls, and safety. The following
management systems are implemented across the board for all
our projects and demonstrate a commitment to excellence and
added value for our clients.
Environment, Health & Safety Management
WIC is dedicated to the protection of the health and safety of our
employees, subcontractors, neighbors and clients; and the
protection & preservation of the environment. Our corporate
safety plan is a framework based on a structured integration of
best safety practices into our operating procedures. This
encompasses information sharing, benchmarking, team-working
and operating at the highest safety standards in the industry.
Many of our safety processes are more stringent than what is
required by the US Federal OSHA (Occupational Safety and
Health Administration) and other applicable regulations.
Through our commitment to continuous improvement, our
corporate safety plan is reviewed and evaluated by an
independent safety consultant on an annual basis.
O
12
Quality Control Management
WIC provides comprehensive oversight on each of its projects.
By consistently exceeding industry standards, we work to satisfy
our most demanding clients. Planning and controlling standards
are fundamental to the success of our projects. Quality is a result
of extensive planning, meticulous team coordination, and a
thorough program which establishes the guidelines to be
followed on each project. WIC provides the oversight and
direction necessary to ensure that issues are addressed from
initial project planning to project completion. WIC provides a
group of experienced professionals that not only share the same
vision, but possess the intrinsic abilities to achieve it.
Quality in construction is set early on by the design criteria, the
engineering and architectural design process, and the technical
specifications. Conformance to these standards is achieved
through field construction skills and methods, effective
supervision controls, and careful inspection. WIC plays a major
role in each of these stages throughout the course of every
project. We avoid future claims and minimize change orders
through a diligent plan of addressing constructability, schedule,
and cost early in a project's development. We enable our clients
to achieve optimum value by continually providing value
analysis throughout the life of each project. WIC maximizes cost
reduction, maintains standards, and minimizes adverse impact
upon the project schedule.
13
Building Information Modeling
The WIC Team strives to be a leader in innovation and the use of
cutting edge technologies that integrate design and construction
processes and add value to the project over its full life-cycle. We
offer a unique set of expertise in areas such as Building
Information Modeling (BIM).
Our teaming partners are experienced in using BIM authoring
software applications as a virtual representation of the building
design which accurately describes building geometry, physical
materials and characteristics of various building components. As
the design develops, the team can designate space planning
information and extract schedules of materials. Three-
dimensional spatial visualization allows the Team to make
decisions rapidly and early in the design process including 3-
dimensional modeling of the structure to plan erection
sequencing. BIM is used also to assign properties to
construction materials and building components which assist
with estimating and purchasing.
Interference (clash) detection of primary structural, mechanical,
electrical, plumbing and fire protection components is also
utilized by the team. The 2-dimensional plans, elevations and
sections are generated directly from the model. Many building
systems are also modeled with intelligent objects. Clash
detection and construction planning are possible through model
interoperability across various software platforms. Post-
construction, the model becomes a useful tool for as-built
documentation and has the potential to interface with building
operations and maintenance. With BIM we are able to build the
project virtually before we build it on the ground. All these
activities add value to the process and prevent costly delays or
changes.
