Revival In The City

description

The Work of God Demands it “A preacher may be wrapped in the robe of learning, and his study walls may be decked with diplomas. His home may be filled with travel souvenirs from many lands. He may wear all the trappings of ecclesiastical prestige and pageantry, but he cannot function without unction.” (Vance Havner)

Adrian Rodgers: “When a preacher gets up and preaches in Greek, and the choir gets up and sings in Latin, its no wonder the people will speak in tongues.”

Vance Havner: “Too much of our orthodoxy is correct in sound, but like words without a tune, it does not glow and burn. It does not stir the heart. It has lost its hallelujah. One man with a genuine glowing experience with God is worth a library full of arguments.”

I’m going to preach the gospel because I know it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. I’m going to keep on preaching it in hopes that it can change the society in which I live. When I can preach it no longer with the hope of changing the society, I’m going to preach it so that the society won’t change me.
