How does your student compare to other 6th-11th graders nationally? To find out, have your student take the pre-ACT test called EXPLORE (grades 6-9) or PLAN (grades 10-11). The test is a “dry run” of the college board ACT test, including math, reading and science sections, and is scored by the ACT. Results are returned about three weeks after testing and includes an estimated ACT score and detailed information on what your student needs to work on to raise scores. According to ACT, students who take PLAN score higher on the ACT than those who do not. It is the only test given to Colorado high school students as an indicator of college and career readiness and is being increasingly used for that purpose in other states as well.
