Direct Selling has created more millionaires over the last several years than the professional sports industry and the Entertainment industry combined.
And It’s NOT Just about bothering your Neighbors and throwing home parties anymore-Direct Selling has moved into the
21st Century
So how are even fast food cooks, formerly homeless musicians, and regular ole’ construction workers making 6 ( and 7 ) Figure Incomes in this industry within their first year ?
By Leveraging The Power Of the Internet
Direct selling for the UnitiatedDirect selling is essentially a business model increasing numbers of companies using this model to reach consumers more directly , cutting out the middlemen in the process and allowing regular folks- usually called “distributors” or “consultants” to get a piece of the pie instead.
But many people don’t know companies like Microsoft and Coca-Cola, even Dove chocolates- use a form of direct selling or multi-level-marketing to move product as well.
Consultants earn commissions on how they move product and by recruiting others into these types of business opportunities can create leverage for themselves regular salespeople can’t.
Thus the elusive “residual income” that a direct selling business offers and many people have found themselves chasing that carrot but never quite finding it.
Business is booming in direct selling.
U.S. sales totaled nearly $30 billion in 2011, up 4.6% from 2010
During a poor economy, it’s not unusual for the direct-sales business to perform well !
It’s an industry that’s even been called “recession-proof”
Here are a few vital things most people miss in this type of business :
• First, it's important to choose a company to work with that has consumable products or products that people will come back for repeatedly.
• Also pay attention to trends in the marketplace and how you might be able to capitalize ? Are people spending less on tupperware or kitchen goods ?
• What do they continue to put money into no matter the economy ?
• ( This is why there are so many nutritionally based companies in the market -long-term customers. )
You need to focus on the advantages of this type of business as well that it offers people .
Often people gain so many tax advantages by starting a direct selling business they are literally losing money by not having one.
This is my goal in my personal business: to make it a smarter decision to not just join my direct selling business, but stay in it forever- because of the money I save them, even if they're not really producing an income themselves !
Direct Selling: The Biggest Weakness
• Creating a list-finding a list of prospective candidates. I like to use the internet as one of my main strategies. Most companies have no idea how to do this right however, when it comes to direct selling.
• Contacting and inviting people- this is all about asking the right questions.
• Presenting-do you have to make speeches or can you just plug in a DVD ?
• Following up- I never try to sell people and tell them not even to bring credit cards to a meeting or presentation. Why ? First, I want to eliminate any pressure one might feel. Second, if someone decides to do business with us I want it to be well -thought out and develop a plan for their success BEFORE they even join.
Finally, you need a solid plan and this is where most people fail.I teach the people I work with to focus on the 4 income
producing activities in their businesses.
