Why Not Invest In Sustainable Development?

Sustainable Development is development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the

ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The concept of Sustainable Development is an approach to development that looks to balance different

needs against an awareness of environmental, social and economic limitations we face as a society. All

often, development is driven by one particular need, without fully considering the wider or future impacts.

We are already seeing the damage this kind of approach can cause, from large scale financial crises caused

by irresponsible banking, to changes in Global Climate resulting from our dependence on fossil fuel-based

energy sources.

The longer we pursue unsustainable development, the more frequent and severe its consequences are

likely to become. Living within our environmental limits is one of the central principles of Sustainable

Development.

One implication of not doing so is Climate Change. But the focus of Sustainable Development is far broader

than just the environment. It's also about ensuring a strong, healthy and just society. This means meeting

the diverse needs of all people in existing and future communities, promoting personal well-being, social

cohesion and inclusion, and creating equal opportunities for all.

Sustainable Development is about finding better ways of doing things, both for the present and the future.

We might need to change the way we work and live now, but this doesn't mean our quality of life will be

reduced.

MPD Designs Pte Ltd is developing a 770 Hectares Futuristic Sustainable Resort in the Republic of Vietnam

that will serve as a model to put into effective action the 17 Sustainable Development Goals listed by the

United Nations.

Goal 1. End of Poverty in all its Forms Everywhere. This Goal will be achieved in our International

University where students will be awarded a Master and Doctorate in Sustainable Development. Also, the

resort itself will generate more than 3000 local jobs;

Goal 2. End Hunger, Achieve Food Security and Improved Nutrition and Promotion of Sustainable

Agriculture. This Goal will be achieved in our 250 hectares Green Area where Organic Vertical Farming

and Reforestation on Sand will provide Organic Food & Beverage to our Guests;

Goal 3. Ensure Healthy Lives and Promote Well-Being for All at all Ages. This Goal will be achieved in our

International Clinic that will deliver Stem Cell Therapy and Cosmetic Surgery and in all our restaurants

where Organic Food & Beverage will be served;

Goal 4. Ensure Inclusive and Equitable Quality Education and Promote Lifelong Learning Opportunities

for All. This Goal will be achieved in our International University for Sustainable Development and

International University of Medicine for Stem Cell Therapy and Cosmetic Surgery.

Goal 5. Achieve Gender Equality and Empower all Women and Girls. This Goal will be achieved in our

International University for Sustainable Development and International University of Medicine for Stem

Cell Therapy and Cosmetic Surgery.

Goal 6. Ensure Availability and Sustainable Management of Water and Sanitation for All. This Goal will

be achieved in our Wastewater Plant that will recycle the totality of the Wastewater generated by the

Resort;

Goal 7. Ensure Access to Affordable, Reliable, Sustainable, and Modern Energy for All. This Goal will be

achieved by setting up a Solar Power Plant, a Wind Power Plant and a Biomass & Waste to Energy Power

Plant making the entire resort Energy Independent and Self-Sufficient Energy Generator;

Goal 8. Promote Sustained, Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Growth, Full and Productive

Employment and Decent Work for All. This Goal will be achieved in our International University for

Sustainable Development and International University of Medicine for Stem Cell Therapy and Cosmetic

Surgery.

Goal 9. Build Resilient Infrastructure, Promote Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization and Foster

Innovation. This Goal will be achieved by operating and managing the Resort via Smart Core Systems and

Internet of Things and educating future international entrepreneurs about Sustainable Development.

Goal 10. Reduce Inequality Within and Among Countries. This Goal will be achieved in our International

University for Sustainable Development where future international entrepreneurs will be highly educated

in Sustainable Development.

Goal 11. Make Cities and Human Settlements Inclusive, Safe, Resilient and Sustainable. This Goal will be

achieved by operating and managing the Resort via Smart Core Systems and Internet of Things.

Goal 12. Ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production patterns. This Goal will be achieved by

operating and managing the Resort via Smart Core Systems and Internet of Things and recycling all wastes

generated by the Resort.

Goal 13. Take Urgent Action to Combat Climate Change and its Impacts. This Goal will be achieved by

setting up a Solar Farm, a Wind Farm and a Biomass & Waste to Energy Power Plant making the entire

resort energy independent and self-sufficient energy generator ;

Goal 14. Conserve and Sustainably Use the Oceans, Seas and Marine Resources for Sustainable

Development. This Goal will be achieved in our 250 hectares Aquaculture Farm to be developed on the

sea;

Goal 15. Protect, Restore and Promote Sustainable Use of Terrestrial Ecosystems, Sustainably Manage

Forests, Combat Desertification, and Halt and Reverse Land Degradation and Halt Biodiversity Loss. This

Goal will be achieved in our 250 hectares Green Area where Organic Vertical Farming and Reforestation

on Sand will provide Organic Food & Beverage to our Guests;

Goal 16. Promote Peaceful and Inclusive Societies for Sustainable Development, Provide Access to

Justice for All and Build Effective, Accountable and Inclusive Institutions at all Levels. This Goal will be

achieved in our University where international students will be awarded a Master and Doctorate in

Sustainable Development. This Goal will be addressed in a preventive manner by educating students to

our Sustainable Development Philosophy and Ethisc in order to avoid any illegal activity while acting for

the wellbeing of Humanity and Planet Earth;

Goal 17. Strengthen the Means of Implementation and Revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable

Development. This Goal will be achieved in our University where future international entrepreneurs will

be awarded a Master and Doctorate in Sustainable Development. Then, when back home they will have

all the tools to create startup companies specialized in Sustainable Development and to participate to the

saving of Humanity and Planet Earth.

Educating people about Sustainable Development is key and all our efforts will be focused on this major

Goal. If we consider the fact that our social, economic and environmental problems are the result of a lack

of understanding regarding Sustainable Development then the solution resides in educating human beings

in a large scale.
