• Average Haulier : 1 penny increase per litre adds £40,000 of costs per year
• April’s duty hike would have added £200,000
• UK Economy:• 95% of everything in business,
our homes and in shops has been on a lorry
• Fuel prices affect inflation and the economy's recovery
Pre Budget Campaign Aims
1.To force the Government to abandon increase in fuel duty
2. RESULT: Stopped planned duty rise and achieved 1p reduction
3.To put in place a fuel price stabiliser to keep fuel costs down for the long term
Post Budget Campaign Aims
1. No fuel duty rises in this Parliament
2. Parity with European fuel duty taxation
3. Setting up a Fair Fuel price stabiliser
