Our values

ygap is an international development not-for-profit with an innovative approach to poverty alleviation.

We believe that the most effective and sustainable way to tackle poverty is to supportlocal impact ventures who deeply understand the unique challenges of their communities and are best placed to develop impactful solutions. We support these impact ventures through our accelerator program which helps them refine their business model, so that they can increase the impact that they are having in their community.

We work across Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands and Australia. To date, we’ve run 44 accelerator programs and have supported 515 early-stage impact ventures who have gone on to improve the lives of over 900,000 people living in poverty.

about ygap

Our recruitment principles

With impact at the core of ygap’s work, the MEL team interacts across all departments to collect, analyse and manage ygap’s social impact.

We have been running accelerators and building the capacity of social entrepreneurs in emerging markets since 2008. We continually test and improve our program model through evaluation to ensure we’re providing our ventures the most effective support. We also conduct impact data collection to see how the support we’re providing is contributing to the communities that our ventures are working in.

At ygap, we’re passionate about leading impact measurement work in the social entrepreneur space across Bangladesh, South Africa, Kenya, the Pacific Islands and Australia.
