    UK Scotland and England, together with Wales united bythe Act of union passed by the Scottish Parliament andWestminster in 1707 to form the Kingdom of GreatBritain.

    The Irish Parliament voted to join the Union in 1801when the then Kingdom of Great Britain became theUnited Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The fullname of the UK then changed in 1922 when most of
