Why IMBA at NCKU? Established in 1956, as the first business school in Taiwan, the College of Management is to
serve business and society in the global economy through developing quality and socially
responsible professionals and business leaders.
In response to the trend towards internationalism, the focus of the College of
Management of NCKU is to cultivate a complete global vision through an extensive
international exposure. The International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) and the
College has actively engaged in academic affiliates and cooperation with prestigious
international institutions to meet the challenge in the future. Activities such as
international conferences, formal exchange programs and short-term visits to foreign
countries by both students and faculty members are conducted. Additionally, having a
good rapport with the various industries, we aim to build an integrated framework
bridging both our College and international corporations or institutions. Through this
framework, the College is expected to benefit through the identification of real-world
problems and will offer valuable knowledge about business practices so as to enhance
the competitive advantage of our students in the global market.

From our Graduate Degree Program, our students will not only be able to utilize new ways
to integrate their practice of business leadership with the academic education, but also
establish their international network around the world. In addition to this, with the
government's active promotion of the Asia-Pacific Regional Operations Center, this
program provides internal and international excellent professors and experts to offer our
students a perfect multicultural environment.

Who are Foreign Students?
If one of the following fits your situation, you are NOT entitled to apply as a foreign student:
(1) You have the overseas Chinese status, or have applied for admission as an overseas
Chinese at any university/college in Taiwan, the Republic of China (ROC).
(2) You have obtained a high school degree as a foreign student in ROC and would like to
pursue further degree, or have been expelled by a university or college in ROC.
(3) You hold Hong Kong or Macau or People’s Republic of China nationality.
(4) You hold a ROC nationality (according to the Article 2 of Law of Nationality).
(5) You held ROC nationality, and you have not renounced it for more than 8 years, up
until the course starting date of NCKU semester when you seek admission.
NOTE: According to the Article 2 of Law of Nationality, a person who meets one of the following
requirements acquires the nationality of the Republic of China.
(1) A person whose father or mother was, at the time of his (her) birth, a citizen of the
Republic of China. *The situation of mother does not apply to those who were born
before February 9(include the 9th), 1980.
(2) A person born after the death of his (her) father or mother who was, at the time of his
(her) death, a citizen of the Republic of China.
(3) A person born in the territory of the Republic of China and whose parents are both
unknown or are stateless.
(4) A naturalized person.
The provisions specified in sub-paragraphs (1) and (2) of the preceding paragraph
shall apply to minor children on the date of the promulgation of the amendment of this
law.
Violation of the above-mentioned rules would result in immediate cancellation of the
applicant’s admission or the deprivation of the applicant’s recognized status as NCKU
registered student, or revocation of applicant’s NCKU diploma. Moreover, no certificates
shall be given.
Applicants Qualifications
his program seeks to create a community of students who bring unique contributions from their diverse backgrounds and experiences and who will collectively enrich the educational program. Candidates are evaluated
according to their achievements, potentials, and the fit between what they aspire to in life and what our IMBA program has to offer.

All applicants to the NCKU IMBA program must meet the following requirements:
• Hold a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or
university
• At least one year of working experience is preferable
• International applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit a
TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper-based) or 243 (computer-based)
• Have taken a GMAT test with scores greater than 550
Admission
(A) The application deadline for 2006 academic year is April 28, 2006. Applications postmarked later than the deadline will not be accepted.
(B) Applications can be submitted either in person or via postal service.
(C) All application forms should be submitted to:

Admission Results Released (A) The admission results will be posted on the
bulletin boards at the entrance of Kuang-Fu Campus on May 30, 2006. It is also accessible on-line at: http://www.ncku.edu.tw/english.
(B) An admission notice will be mailed to the
accepted students individually.
Submit the following documents in the order as listed below and clip them on the upper left corner.
Required Materials for Application
a. Two copies of the Application for Admission form (Form A)
b. Two recent two-inch photos (full-face) affixed on the application form (Appendix 1) with
the name and date of birth at the back of the photos
c. A photocopy of the applicant’s highest diploma, a notarized English translation of the
diploma, and an official transcript in English (Graduating students may submit the
transcripts or a photocopy of the student identification. The original diploma should be
submitted at enrollment.)
d. Two Letters of Recommendation (Form B)
e. An employment history or current resume
f. A study plan in English (Form C)
g. Affidavit (Form D)
h. Other documents related to the application
The following additional documents maybe required at the registration process after
admitted.
i. Health certificate (including HIV test results) processed within the last six months.
j. Financial support (with sufficient funds for the applicant’s entire stay of study)
Note:Application will not be accepted if any of the above materials is
missing or late. No submitted documents will be returned.
Important Regulations
International students who are dismissed from other universities in Taiwan are not eligible
to apply to this University. Applicants who violate this regulation will have their admission
nullified or student status revoked.
International students who have completed undergraduate courses in Taiwan and
desire to take postgraduate studies should follow the application procedures.
The University has the right to withdraw the admission from any applicant who is found
to make illegal profit through the admission.
Once the application is submitted, the applicant cannot change the major or
program.
Any violation of academic honor or general laws will result in dismissal from the
University.
Should the violation be found after the applicant’s completion of his/her study, the
University would deprive them of his/her former student status and revoke his/her
degree certificate.
These application regulations for international students are based upon the “Rules for
Admitting International Students to NCKU”.
Registration & Enrollment
ll admitted students should register with the department by the designated time. The applicants who fail to complete these procedures are regarded as giving up the
admission. A
Documents needed at the registration: (1) Applicant’s Passport
(2) Original copy of the highest diploma obtained
The admitted student should submit one copy of his/her highest diploma and the English
transcript, officially notarized by the overseas office of R.O.C. in the country where the
documents were originally issued, at the time of registering at NCKU. Please contact
your Ministry of Education for special regulation of documents verification.
(3) Admitted student must submit his/her health certificate after arriving at NCKU to
complete the registration.
(4) Admitted graduate students should apply for their deferral directly to the IMBA, College
of Management. The deferral is valid only when approved. Admitted graduate
students who are unable to enroll in the second semester will be disqualified.
(5) Transferring credits from other universities is possible by application to the Department.
Institutional transfer is evaluated based on the general policy of the University.
Submit any complaints in letter regarding application results to the Office of Academic Affairs within 30 days after the release of the admission results. Anonymous complaints will be dismissed.
Scholarships Tuition and Other Fees
(A) Scholarships
(1) Graduate students who are eligible for scholarships as specified in the admission letter
are entitled to submit their applications to the authority concerned and receive a
tuition and on-campus accommodation fee waiver after completing the enrollment.

dormitory fee WAIVED for the whole study period
