College football is the most popular, but high school football is also very popular. Every Friday night during the Fall, thousands of people attends high school football games. This infographic talks about why high school football is extremely popular in Alabama! The Community Spirit From logos painted on the street, honoring people before the game, and school pep rallies. Community spirit is very high at every high school football game. Honor America Before The Game Alabama and the South is very patriotic and supports America. Expect to hear the National Anthem and see the American Flag raised at every game! The Paper Signs Many schools have their cheerleaders make unique paper signs for the football team to run through before each game. The signs can be very creative! The Opening Introductions Each school has different ways to welcome their hometown football team. You see the band, cheerleaders, school kids, and people on the field! The Halftime Show One of the best parts of a high school football game is the halftime show! Not only you hear some great music, you also see some stunts/props as well! The Concession Stand The concession stand not only supports the schools and extra programs. Many stands have also gotten very creative with their unique food selections. The Hits And Touchdowns Football features a lot of touchdowns and hits. The home crowd celebrates a touchdown from the home team, or a big hit from the home team. The Cheerleaders Every school has cheerleaders! The girls and guys will cheer on the sidelines and pump up the crowd and the team. Some squads also performs moves at a game. The Coaches Every football team has a coach, and the crowd loves it when a coach shows some anger or emotion from the sidelines. Especially if a bad call was made! The Mascots Every football game and school also has the mascots! Not only they roam the sidelines, they also go into the stands and makes the kids very happy! The Referees The referees have a tough job. From the coin toss to the final whistle, the refs work under a lot of pressure to get the call right. There’s no replay in HS football. After The Game After the game, you usually see both teams shaking hands, the coaches from both teams shaking hands, and an after the game pep talk, unless the game was tough. After The Game Review Shows Local TV and radio stations not only broadcast high school football games, they also do hours long review / recap shows of high school football as well! Honoring God This is the South, and faith and Christianity is strong! Most football games will feature a student led prayer, and even Christian signs and mascots. High school football are huge fundraisers for schools and the community themselves. Go out and support your community by attending your local high school football game.
